Then it makes sense to do it now before everyone is forced to buy a new pc with new Windows and new Office 12 because MS doesn't want to support an open format. OpenDocument documents can be read by software like OpenOffice.org, Abiword, Koffice, etc, software that can be run on existing hardware and operating systems. Massachusets want to give everyone, including those people that can only afford a hand-me-down pc, access to information right now, not just those that can afford to pay and use software from a single vendor.
I don't agree with thinking FreeBSD becoming a bigger joke because I think it's very good, but I do have to agree with the feel of the logo. It's a bit too much like something for a gaming console, or some sophisticated toy. It lacks that touch of authority, the feeling of late night logging into work and do some command line maintenance. Or maybe I'm already getting too old, being over 30 and all.:-P
Not just the VMWare images, but (more interesting for our company) also Virtual PC/Server images.
At least, that's what they claim. Tested the player with VPC and VServer images, but they all stop with an error in the log about importing something into the registry which is not in registry format. But then again it's still in beta.
Hey, if you're a FreeBSD user (like me) you should know it doesn't need wine to run. Just look at the port. (been running it since 5-something, and even when it got marked as broken it was easy to compile and run it anyway)
Same here. Not only is the file encrypted with ccrypt, but I store it at home on one of the machines with an obscure filename. Whenever I need it at work I can ssh home and read/change it.
Modding you troll is rather childish because it's a fair question. I think more people would like to know why one product has been chosen instead of others. I don't code myself, exception the one or two occasions I needed something small, but I find a comparison interesting.
From the start Dragonfly has been one of the main distros imho. They forked FreeBSD and have clear ideas about how it's supposed to work and work hard to get it done. They're part of the BSD landscape now and I think they'll be here for a long time.
Except fiberoptics have one big advantage, When I stuff my upload to the max there's no decrease in download speed. So far the banwidth has often been almost twice that than the 10 MB they specified.
Like someone else already said, we don't like pushing patches automatically onto our servers, and we do plan better upgrade days, but this threat is serious enough to warrant a day like this. Besides, anything to get to sleep in on a monday morning.:-P
I think it depends on your style of driving. To me left hand makes more sense because the right hand is often switching between wheel and gearshift. I notice it whenever I drive a right hand car. Having to use my left hand more than my right feels unnnatural. Add to that controlling the cd player in the dash.

but clearly the time is not right now
If not now, then when?
I was just going through the handbook myself. Just go to http://www.nl.freebsd.org/

A group can be interesting
Which would give a new meaning to the term "flash mob".
being extremely efficient isn't a big survival trait for humans
At least we still focus on important things like reproduction.
Looking at the article I'd say to give ATI shares a boost.

I disagree. From the start of the first song I got a good feeling. They're rather good so far and I think they can get plenty of fans.

...for that link. Seems the only thing limiting my downloadspeed at around 400 KB is the speed of my wireless network. :-)
Any encryption can be cracked eventually, so I never trust it completely. And it's a simple extra precaution.

The idea of a geek and godsgifttowomen invalidates my dinner.

Hey, I didn't know Al Gore invented the Internet. And then they say games can't teach you anything...

It's a rare open source project that can match Microsoft on that.
It's a rare open source product that's being used on ~95% of the desktops.

I can't wait until our office has no Windows. :-P

Which is why we're at this moment here at work patching all servers manually. Good thing it also means a sunday bonus. :-)
The bottom quote kinda fits; "If at first you don't succeed, redefine success." Or in this case, redefine editor.
But will it do crumpets too?
