My understanding is that we (as in humans) are set up for a slightly longer day than 24 hours (I don't understand the science behind it). So perhaps it would be more appropriate for the crew to work to Mars time & the support team to *support* the people who are in a rather more stressful situation by working funny hours for a bit. Blimey, they can always record the Simpsons if they don't want to miss it.

So I guess that means that the ejercated people won't bother responding, because they don't know how to right any more, and the homeless ones won't know about it till it's too late anyway. Gets it through easy enough. Next we can start on the blacks and women - hey let's put the next law through /. - It's only read by white men!

That's what we all want to know. None of my clients even want to know about Linux. So I'm 'stuck' doling out M$ systems, can't really get the time together to start learning *nix properly for myself, let alone showiing people the light.

Doesn't help when charities can get M$ software at 10% of retail & the state sector is in bed with Bill. Moan moan moan.

I certainly hope you're right. It could make good business sense - allow anyone to use the roads/OS, make money on the cars. My cynical half is having trouble here though.

There does seem to be a certain naive attitude that IBM are doing everybody a favour here. In the Bib Blue Boardroom, it's probably being viewed as a smart way of getting back in the ring with M$ and Sun

Just like SCO, IBM is full of pigs.

I'm not saying this is a good idea...

How's about using a Pharmaceutical model in the sotware, where a 'patent' lasts 2 or 5 years? After that it's a free for all.

    Benefits:
Fast moving/imaginative developers get to protect their code for a while at least.
Long term benefit for public good.

    Not-so-Beneficial:
More opportunities for the pigs to take over (see 'Pharmaceutical model' above)

Some more ideas If you can also see through the display, it could have all sorts of head-up display uses. Not that I think you should be on the phone when you're flying that euro-fighter. It might also make battleships a viable game for 2 on a mobile. We need to know about whether the two sides if the display can display different things.

Try telling this to the people (about 6) I know who have had supportive treatments and/or operations.

It has occured to me that all these people are females in their 40's or 50's, who are generally receptionists, keying in data whilst on the phone.

I've had a mild case & switching to one of the specialist keyboards has helped. I use a Fingerworks TouchStream ST - excellent but it takes some getting used to, is a right old pain if you work in the UK and need to use the £ sign (character map etc etc).

The mouse thing is interesting - I have found that most problems occur in the hand that isn't using the mouse, as it's being lifted of the keyboard whilst mousing.
