    Control. Why else?

    Or... because for most of the history of mankind, single moms had no means to support their children and no reliable means to have sex without making babies.

    I'm posting at the top because I've never seen such a unified response to an AskSlashdot in the decade I've spent reading this site. I want to inform readers... don't waste your time reading past this point because the rest of the discussion is redundant.

    Well, here's something different. See if they would let you check your email from an encrypted virtual machine and then be sure to always use the virtual machine to do anything work-related.

    Even if the study was correct, this is unlikely to happen (in the USA at least). It is simply too radical a change for anything as rigid as our public schools systems.

    It doesn't matter one way or the other whether adults or teens are more rational. Parents need to interfere in their teenage children's sex lives because the Parents have to deal with the consequences of the stupid decisions their children make.

    And yes, I realize that often children have to deal with the stupid decisions their parents make. That doesn't change anything.

    My experience with Fedora is that the odd-numbered releases seem more stable and usable than the even numbered releases. I don't know why that is.

    every sunday a guy shows up with 20 bags of flour. the townspeople line up and buy the flour from the guy, $2/ a bag

    one sunday, this asshole shows up really early, buys all 20 bags for $40, turns around and faces the townsfolk and says "ok, that will be $5 a bag from each of you"

    understand the illegality yet?

    Except it's more like the original guy shows up with $2 toy dolls rather than bags of flour. Now why is it illegal?

    I ordered five of them and have been putting off calling about not getting them because I understand that they are not a business.

    At least when I track my order at www.laptopgiving.org I have moved up from the "invalid reference number" to a message that tells me that I can track my order at www.laptopgiving.org!

    The problem is that these cars only get their good EPA numbers by burning the kind of gas available in California-style-regulation states. The cars do not burn as cleanly in other states and so if car-makers sell one of these cars there, they will not meet the advertised EPA ratings.
