Yeah, its kinda scary that anyone could "eavesdrop" on your AIM conversations so easily. This added encryption will make it more secure, no doubt.

funny how new artists encourage filesharing to get their name out, but when they get big we're stealing their music. "suffering" = riding around in cadillacs and party yachts.....? i dont feel bad for any of you.

That sounds like an awesome idea. Kazaa kinda does the same thing with the folder called "my preferences", but alot of times its just the same songs or artists you already have, just spelled differently.

  10. Re:Music preferences and marketing on Apple Wooing Smaller Labels · · Score: 1

Having the ability to "facilitate the introduction of an artist to a prospective fan" may be included in the definition of a record label, but is not restricted to that. I "facilitate the introduction of an artist to a prospective fan" when I tell my friends about the new song I heard on the radio. I'm not a record label.

  11. Re:music... on Has the Internet Changed College? · · Score: 1

I agree, computers have revolutionized the college experience in so many ways. I took my computer to a store to be fixed and didn't have it for 24 hours and I felt lost. It's good that we have such technologies to make things easier but it's sad how dependent we are on them.

Wow...guess you should've acted on that idea. I think these EZ-Ds will be pretty successful, being cheaper than buying and easier than renting. It's a better option in every field.

  13. Re:Tough Subject on Violent Video Game Restriction Struck Down · · Score: 1

You have a good point, but what I was trying to say is that there really is no way to prove who is affected by what. Yeah, its probably unlikely for violent video games to make grown adults more violent, but minors are still developing their ideas of morality. But the fact still remains, there is no way to prove anything, thats why its such a touch subject.

  14. Re:How about a DVD? on Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation · · Score: 1

Actually, I think you can see the movie for up to 48 hours, so if you wanted to watch it more than once you could. After 48 hours the DVD becomes unreadable. And yeah, it is cool. I can't wait for them to come out, it'll save me alot of money.

  15. Re:How is this different from porn? on Violent Video Game Restriction Struck Down · · Score: 1

I agree, violence should be more carefully considered than sexually explicit material. I'm not saying that we should ignore the sexual stuff, but rather prioritize. Good point.

Have you all heard about the self-destructing DVDs coming out? I guess they're real cheap and you don't have to return them like a rental. Do you think its a good idea to try it out for a couple days so you can see all the bonus material and decide if its worth buying or not??

  17. Tough Subject on Violent Video Game Restriction Struck Down · · Score: 1

It's hard to say whether censorship is or is not the answer. I'm not the biggest advocate for censorship by far, but who's to say how violent video games will or will not affect minors.

  22. Laptop Pros and Cons on What Kind Of Computer To Bring To College? · · Score: 1

For the past couple years I've been using a laptop, and it has some pros and some cons. The biggest pro is that, being in college, setting it up is easy. It's easy to bring it home on breaks and stuff. The biggest problem I've had is that it has limitations because of drive space and RAM. Bottom line, laptops (at least most of them) simply can't do what your regular PC can. But, to me, just the simplicity of its size has been worth it.
