    I should get a *real* news server that has better post retention you say? Well, that costs money and WASTE/Kazaa Lite doesn't. USENET is great for many things, but not for all things.

    I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. That's the only way to be sure.
    This suggestion is obviously coming from someone who does not live in the northwest US. As someone who does, I think the sniper is a much better idea.
    This post is obviously coming from somebody who has never seen Aliens. This post is obviously coming from someone who is very perceptive. My lack of movie trivia has caused me to miss yet another joke. :)

    I disagree that apathy has been the victor so far- we're just fighting a very uphill battle. Microsoft got lucky in the fact that the time in which they came "into power" was when the industry was very open to someone rising up and dominating. Now we just just have to do what most of us are doing- dispelling FUD, contributing to the open source community, and doing other activities that generally chip away at Microsoft's base.

    Remember, Rome not only wasn't built in a day, but also wasn't destroyed in a day either. We're on the right track, but it's going to take a while to get people over to the alternatives of Microsoft.

    Well, I use Windows only to VNC into my Linux box so I can do all my work. I do that so I can at least *appear* to be non-geeky to anyone who wanders by when the VNC session isn't up.

    Yeah, "soft" is common, but is by no means the only thing he could have closen. He just wanted to ride he coattails of Microsoft in some way and will probably wind up paying the price for that. I would agree with anyone who said that Mr. Rowe probably didnt have any malicious intent, but copyright violations are not anything to take chances with.

    He didn't have to put the "soft" on there, though. He could have ended it with "Systems", "Designs", etc, etc, etc and have it be just as clever. He'll lose because it is a blatant attempt to capitalize off the Microsoft trademark. Just look at all the attention he's gotten so far.

    Nobody thinks that him being named "Mike Rowe" is a problem, it's that he added a "Soft" being it that's causing the problem. This is a stupid lawsuit because Mr. Rowe is an idiot for getting himself sued so easily.
