These are all great recommendations, but the one that at least for me has made the most difference is that I keep a notepad at my desk and WRITE STUFF DOWN by hand. it forces you to organize your thoughts, and also the very act of writing it down and not typing it helps you to remember it. In my opinion, a notebook (paper) and a pencil are the best tools to fight inattentiveness.
Are these the same congressmen that have no problem shafting your rights for corporate profit? They don;t even blink when they pass laws like the DMCA and now the Broadcast flag discussion, but they are all up-in-arms when Chinese rghts are violated? Please give me a break.
Sometimes I think it would be better to move to anotehr country that the US is "Rebuilding and helping" because the home front is being neglected.
I use NASLite from server elements.
I gotta say this is the simplest cool way to do NAS
Small, sweet and fast. The free version runs on a floppy, and the commercial version can boot from USB (leaving 4 drives available for shared data)
This thing is prety cool, and even if you don't decide to go for it, you owe it to yourself to check it out.
small, simple, fast and doesn't require too much computing power. In fact, as a geek (like me) you probably have machines that are overkill for it sitting in your basement.

Everyone who has experienced violence first hand, raise your hands... (counts hands)
Everyone who's parents had sex, raise your hands....(counts these hands)
Seems like more people are victoms of sex than of violence, so it only seems appropriate we protect them from sex (boobies being a distant relation to sex and all...)/I am only kidding, I get it/
There are still machines out there that are running windows 95 (without USB support), and the floppy is the only way to get data in or out of the machine.
Also, without a floppy, how could I run my NASLite Server?

I mean I know we want windows to be more secure, but Microsft hasn't exactly got a stellar record of having new replacements be more secure than older ones. I have a feeling that this wil be exploited before it can go gold. WHile I think it is a step in the right direction, I don;t think its enough
You can easily find an IBM model M Keyboard, and they have removable keycaps. Remove the keycaps and store them and you are all set. Plus you can take this time to clean the ceycaps.
I am sorry, but no wired keyboard is worth 80$, not even this one
I have to admit, I Like the idea of offering a free download of the book. For this, I have no problem providing my email, at least some company gets a clue as to how to market. If I have to clean junkmail out of my mailbox, at least give me something tangible, like a PDF:)
I just upgraded for the first time in Quite a While, and I must say, I am not impressed. I took stock of the money I spent, and I was dissappointed with the relative improvement of most of the games I have (which was the reason for the upgrade in the first place)
I am getting very brazen to PC speed, and will probably not be upgrading in the near future (or the mid-term future )
BTW, the older PC is becoming a File server. Check out www.naslite.com
I decided to take the easy way out, and have a small SFF SHuttle system hooked up to my stereo and TV. This basically takes out of the equation any issues of compatabiilty, since it will play any region DVD, any format music and any format video file, on the TV and the stereo.
Limiting myself to a few browser tabs? Really? Shut the damn laptop and work with paper and a pencil. :)

Funny how the statement falls apart when you replace personal with Bank and companies with Taxpayers

Scooby dooby dupe. It's still on the screen. It seems the editors are just bored.

I was being a bit sarcastic
While I view a PDF as slightly better than an online article, it's not very tangible.
