at one time, I signed up for AOL's unlimited access plan and I was only able to get a signal through once every 1-2 hours for about 15 minutes before being kicked off.
Dean isn't "far-left", a moderate (former governor of a very conservative state) with some "left" or liberal views isn't "far-left".
Bush isn't a "non-fiscal conservative", he's a "starve-the-beaster". and his liberal medicare benefit will put most of the value into the pharmacutical (sp?) and private industry's pockets as they sell more drugs at guaranteed high prices and pull in the profitable seniors into private plans. In addition, the long term costs of his medicare benefit in conjunction with his rampant deficit spending could mean going back to only the well to do being able to afford school and retirement....or massive tax increases for my generation and my childrens generation.
I considered McLeod for land line service, but the way the structure their packages made it vastly more expensive for what I wanted.
I wanted a land line & caller id. They offer land line alone for a good price but the quoted price for land line & caller id (and many many other services because caller id is only available in a big ass package) came to almost $45/mo as opposed to my $35/mo from quest and I get voice mail for that as well.
only in very limited housing developments. And here in the twin cities, those developments often get sued, because the fiber to every home in the area runs voice, data, and cable programming; the telco's & cable operators don't like their turf being stepped on.
I had a friend that had to go and testify in defense of the development she was moving into because of this very reason.
firebird is a great browser and my favorite since it was phoenix.5, but there are some sites that don't render correctly; for those I've downloaded the "view in IE" extension for firebird, it adds an option to my context menu that allows me to open the current tabbed page in IE if it doesn't render or function correctly in firebird.
Are you saying that firebird is a "substandard" browswer? The web pages that people create using frontpage are non-standard using MS's broken implementation of standards. The web pages are causing the problems, not the browsers.
You also seem to argue that Mozilla renders all pages correctly, but I'd suggest going to an activex website with Mozilla or one that won't even server up pages to non-IE browsers (unless you set the user agent appropriately) to see how well it renders those pages.
I really doubt that "thrid" world farmers are more efficient "in economic terms". What exactly are you meaning by "economic terms"? in US Dollars per unit? in capital + labor hours per unit? give me an idea of what you mean, you can't honestly compare third world countries US Dollars per unit to a USA farmers US Dollars per unit unless that third world country has a standard of living anywhere in the ballpark of the USA's standard of living. To do otherwise is just a drastic misunderstanding of economic principles.
I do agree with your other statements, I just don't want people thinking that third world countries are more efficient at something just because their workers make a pitance in US wages...would you like to be "efficient" at maybe $365 per year?
Dude,
My CD Burner only cost me $10 not $30. So what if it only lasts a couple of years, it was $10. Much easier for me to upgrade than it was from the $150 8x Teac I got 2 years ago or the $200 2x HP 4 years ago.
In an age of rapidly improving technology, it doesn't really make sense to pay an ass load of money for something that will be considered outdated inside of a year. That $10 CD Burner is so much more advanced than my older ones and it's also most likely my last CD Burner as DVD burners come down in price.
Bottom line is that lasting quality isn't important in some product spaces. I agree about technical support callers, but please use an argument that relates to your views.
Prior art doesn't appear to matter any longer. The patent office doesn't have the capacity, capabitlity or the subject matter knowledge to search for, find, and apply prior art.
Just approve it and let the courts find the prior art.
I'll move over to Mac or Linux completely when game developers start supporting them. The only reason left to use Windows instead of a superious OS is that Windows has games.
That's one of the problems in our "sue-happy" country.
Damages far in excess of actual or even theoretical damages.

my bad. does that make my entire statement incorrect or are you nit-picking?

What the hell are you talking about?

Sorry, I f'ed up, I saw efficiency and I the distortion machine between my ears translated to productivity.

I see 8 games on there, only 5 are available and I don't play any of them. Is there a larger list?

Kind of like used CD stores charging sales tax on previously taxed items. I never agreed with that.
What about "Manimal"?
