In the UK, you are required to pay for a TV License (currently £126.50 {$228.14} or just £42.00 {£75.75} for black and white) every year.
From the TV Licensing website: "If you use a TV or any other device to receive or record TV programmes (for example, a VCR, set-top box, DVD recorder or PC with a broadcast card) - you need a TV Licence. You are required by law to have one."
Of course the victims were innocent. There are some pretty nasty people who live in London, but none of them use the tube, and are even less likely to use a bus.
So even if this was revenge, it was aimed at TOTALLY the wrong people. If they wanted to hit politicians or military personnel, they could have chosen many more suitable underground stations than the ones they did.
You say "for every action there are consequences". Are you therefore saying that, simply by paying their taxes these people all deserved what they got?
The court case with the farmer who shot the burglars was because he basically shot them with a shotgun as they were running away.
The other part of that case that people and the press like to forget is that the shotgun was illegal, he had no shotgun licence, and that 12 months of his original sentence was for this reason.
Personally, I think Tony Martin would make a lousy super hero.
But you didn't quote him in full. You added the words [Arabs]. This is what you misunderstood him to be refering to. If you replace this with [Arab regeimes] your whole post above would have a different meaning alltogether.
I hate to continue this offtopic thread, but your post angers me (a little bit).
Do not use quote-marks when trying to paraphrase somebody. Those were not the words that Kilroy used. They are not even what he was trying to say. He was acually trying to say that certain Arab regimes are, or have supported, "suicide bombers, limb-amputators and women repressors" (note correct use of quotes).
Ironically, it is reported today that BBC1 viewing figures have actually risen since Kilroy was taken off air. It seems that the people prefer re-runs of gardening programs to Kilroy's daily show.
So he may stay off the air indefinately, but for a completely different reason.
Oh, and don't be so negative about "Political Correctness". PC is a useful tool to encourage people to think about consequences before they speak/act. It is especially important in the education of children who are easily led by the promices and ideals of the far-right.
While I believe BBC is wrong to suspend Kilroy-Silk, I can definately understand the resons behind them being so heavy-handed.
The critism they have recieved from their involvement in the Dr.David Kelly fiasco would surely make any national organisation take Political Correctness very seriously indeed!
Kilroy-Silk made a mistake. His original article was misleading and he has appologised for that. I am sure we will see him back in the Beeb soon enough.
Parent above is correct, the Queen does not choose any of the recipients of honours. They are chosen by 10 commitees of civil servents who put suggestions to an 11th committee to make final decisions.
Awards are not only given to famous people, but to people who make a difference and are the pride of the UK. My old headmaster has an OBE.
About the Queen using the internet for porn though, I know that's not true. She gets the Sunday Sport for her porn fix.
I'm sorry, but if I hear another yank slag off Michael Moore for Bowling for Columbine I might just go an get a gun myself!
You should be thankful that you have this man who is willing to bring the issue of America's obsession with guns to the forefront of the media. Yes, he may exaggerate. Yes, K-Mart aren't the only ones who sold bullits. But the fact is - THEY DON'T SELL BULLITS NOW. And Michael Moore did that.
He made K-Mart recognise that selling bullits does not help society.
Please America. Listen to this man. There is a vast difference in statistics of gun death between US and UK and you are blind if you do not recognise this.
BBCi:
"Four out of five children receive inappropriate spam e-mails touting online drugs, get-rich-quick schemes and porn, a survey has found."
Click here for full BBCi article (very good).
Doesn't this seem to be getting out of hand?
the law should be this clear - don't send e.mails to anyone who has not asked for them. No "cold-calling" or spam at all.
"and drunk and disorderly assholes."
My asshole was drunk and disorderly last night. You should have seen the mess!
Finally, someone's hit the nail in the head.
I don't care if someone wants to kill themselves with smoke - and I hardly care that I will suffer from the passive smoke around me.
But, by God, do they stink!

That's a load of tosh.

No. They did not deserve this.

I've just read your last few posts and...
Are you a joke?
Either way, behave yourself!
nuff said.
I only donate to whom the BBC recommend.
I always get great ideas like this, only I'm too lazy to do anything about it.
I like the idea of getting the legit banks involved, especially. My bank has always got signs up warning about fake emails etc.
As far as I can tell, you are the only person to realise that this whole "ad in the sky" malarky actually invented in the book "Red Dwarf".
I'd be modding you up now, if only I understood the whole modding process.
Congrats.
fair enough.
As I said though, the British pupblic prefers repeats of "Gardening Time" to Kilroy so your wish may come true.
