  1. My own String theory on Current Thoughts in String Theory · · Score: -1, Offtopic

Besides the obvious (tight body wild girls wear string more than chubby down-to-earth girls): Women tend to use string a whole lot more during the early stages of dating and a relationship. As the relationship nears a more "safe" stage were the initial heat is over, they start sneaking in the "b-team" underwear: grandmas nickers and worn-in panties, just saving the more s*xy string lingere for "special ocassions". Its an evil and sneaky practice, but thats the string theory for you. Oh the humanity!

  2. What about David Boies? on SCO Roundup · · Score: 1

Am I the only one who feels pretty calm about this whole thing when SCO has David Boies as their lawyer? Government vs. Microsoft, Gore vs. Bush, Napster vs. RIAA ring any bells? The guy never seems to win, and if he ever does win, the wins dont accomplish anything.. When a guy who wouldnt even score with a $5 prostitute is representing them, at least I am sleeping pretty well. Disclaimer (just as well, when talking about a lawyer): I am not claiming Boies would ever even think about trying to score with a prostitute, it is just a metaphor for his "successes" in high profile cases..

  3. Smoking Crack Operation on SCO Says IBM is Beating Up on Them · · Score: 2, Insightful

I think we finally have the proof that SCO stands for "Smoking Crack Operation".. They come up with more outrageous conspiracy theories than any Slashdotter has come up with regarding "SCO-MS"!

  4. p2p can be used for illegal actions.. on RIAA/MPAA vs. xMule Author, EarthStation 5 · · Score: 2, Interesting

Well, if it should be illegal to just think about using or creating p2p software because it can be used for illegal actions, shouldnt that apply to other areas as well or not at all?

I would presume that you can use a gun to do things that are much worse than what you ever could achieve with Kazaa (RIAA might disagree)..
Then again, while we are at it: you could speed in a car, or drive drunk and kill somebody.

Point being the obvious: I dont care if piratism is illegal, it should be, its just that today its easier to pirate music than to buy it, so, it is pirated. The fault for that lies with the industry, but its still not justifying piratism.

But: Dont illegalize tools that may be used for both good and bad, they are only tool, and as I said, I can think of things much worse and harmful than a p2p application..

  5. Using SCO:s arguments against them? on SCO: Code Proof Analyzed, Linus Interviewed · · Score: 1, Interesting

Since System V seems to incorporate a whole lot of BSD code, as well as System 3 code that has been open sourced, couldnt we just use SCO:s own arguments against them? :) System V is a derivative work of the ancient and know open sourced Unix:es, meaning that they in reality do not have copyrights or rights to anything..

  7. Re:Sweden DOES suck on Sweden To Outlaw File Sharing, Crypto Breaking? · · Score: 1

I am from Sweden (originally, now seeking luck elsewhere since a year back). Sweden has the highest taxes in the world (54.5% of BNP I believe, not sure), are the third poorest country in the EU after Italy and portugal (down from second richest in the world after Switzerland 50 years ago..). I love Sweden, but I dont want to live there right now since it is becoming a impoverished banana-republic (same party has ruled some 60 of the last 70 years!). The thing I miss the most? The women.. Aah, they dont make them like that anywere else in the world, and believe me, Ive tried to look around!

Aaaah.. What a heart-warming story, dont you just think that the music-industry has found the perfect way to build customer-loyalty of its core-customers?
