I usually stick on RP servers, but that's kinda sad cause you lack the emotion of the character.
If Im playing a paladin, and partied with a wizard, 2 clerics, and a rogue.. and the rogue is doing naughty tricks (not evil or unlawful, mind you), I'd give a stern look and a growl-like sound.. Sort of like a scowl, but how do I express this in NWN?
NWN on anything but RP is a glorified version of "Diablo 3" (do-ya-blow).
You assume "Arab" or "muslim" or whatnot. Im talking about EVERY religion's fundamantals.. Whether it be Christian, Judiasm, Islam, Hinduism... you name it.
Second, I dont know if I believe in evolution quite myself.. Basis is there's not enough information available to make AN INFORMED decision. We can find dino bones almost everywhere.. Just dig where fossils are common. We have fossils dating back to the precambrian era.. Why not to the era that links current humans to the apes?
The books represent a gully dwarf to be a small (average 3 ft) humanoid, known to have not much more than a 3-5 year old intelligence. Thy live very filthy and in hovels.
They are known to be very violent and attack in packs, usually against eahc other too.
If anything, NWN is a really handicapped version of AD&D 3.0 with too many bugs to count.. I'd name them off, but if you play more than 1 hour, you'll find them.
Never the less, to make NWN more enjoyable, I suggest you get NWN, SoU, and HotU along with downloadable pacthes CEP and PrC (http://nwnprc.netgamers.co.uk/). PrC attempt s to fix a lot of bugs, while adding in about 50 new classes, modifying the epic spell system so that it does NOT require feats, and adding of a bunch more feats in general.
I, so far, have played on 2 servers with all of these patches. It's quite interesting to see a floating skull casting magic at rapid fire (demilich class).
Fundamentalist anything scares me. Who cares about the religion at hand? Once someone has a fundamentalist mindset, its sort of like an occult-like grab. Nothing breaks it.
How do you verify a said router is tustworthy to build a noroutelist for.. How do you login? How do you prevent attacks where it disables the person requesting to be de-routed? And then "take control of their routes".
I see some serious holes in this...
And I'd sure as hell would NOT install this remote root kit on my routers.
---That goes not just for you, but for all your moronic Rush-loving friends.
Ok, you know me, and now Im a "strong Rush Supporter"... Amazing what few words can show.
---Some of us posess this thing called intelligence and are able to think for ourselves.
Ivory towers of academia come to mind.
---What we see the "conservatives" out there handing more and more power to the uber-rich while our poor children go uneducated and dying for lack of health care.
Who pays the most taxes? Eh? Oh, the Rich. Who doesnt pay taxes?? Ahh, that group called the "poor". Kinda hard to repeal taxes on the poor.
---It's obviously not *all* Bush's fault. It's also the fault of a culture where greed is called "being smart" and stepping on your fellow man is considered the Right Thing To Do.
I dont know where you've been living at all this time, but all of humanity is like that. Thats why Communism will fail. Who is John Galt, and what about that gulch?
---Rome is burning. You conservatives will have the most money, but it's just fuel for the fire that will help burn down the empire.

Nahh, those are poor families who are for the working man. HAH HAH HAH
If you want a decent president (regardless of political beleif) go find a farmer. Those people know how to work by the sweat of their brow and make things work. And every farmer I know HAS had it rough, some many times.
1: Unexpected program operation 2: Features not documented (ala commandline arguments) 3: Poor settings that are not accessable through GUI (ala mozilla about:config ) 4: Bad or lacking help in help file. No exmples are a big concern in many programs 5: Not working due to silly happenings (lock file in/tmp after program crashes) 6: Insane setup required or large amount of dependancies on source packages 7: Just plain bad configs for your system (and youre not a programmer) and doesnt compile
You support these (or..ahem, make these) and you get money.
Most, if not all things made for consumers are made with this lack of quality in mind. Motherboards at least have a replaceable chip (unlike some dell models). Some high-ish quality X86 boards have 2 bioses that keep a known good copy on second chip.
You must be aware that most devives with updateable firmware also suffer this.. problem. Some older graphics cards actually had removable Bioses, as well did scsi cards.
Once device I know that does not have this problem is the stable hardware on teh Compaq Proliant servers. There's extremly stable text mode drivers along with keyboard imput and ide drivers. You update the upgradeable bioses on the hard drive. Something causes problems? Reload from cd and redo the "bios" partition.
Lucent USB wifi modules also do something similar... The driver for the host computer updates "onload" the firmware. A firmware updfate on those are as simple as telling the driver to upload this file instead of this other file.
Heh, he just doesnt understand the jobs of us consutants..
Im only 22, yet I've loads of 'war stories'.
Ive witnissed newbies deleting in their home directory (in linux no less), and misplace a space between the "rm -rf./" to "rm -rf ./".
Ive seen one person who plugged a hacked up thing like etherkiller cause he heard it was Internet over powerlines.. Needless to say.. he didnt buy the kit.
Another person was doing backup procedures, and the tapes used had their read-only tab on. They've used those tapes for a year like that.
Ive also witnessed an old boss try to sell a subscribed local 802.11b internet subscription from 22 miles away from base receiver.. He said a small set-top unit inside your house could pick up the signal.
Ive seen eyt another person who Ive had to constantly clean because he somehow attacts crap-ware on their PC *PORNSURFER*.
--Unfortunately the american psyche got burned with that image of what "being a man" was. Mainly it meant that you killed people and resorted to violence immediately.
Far from that.. You defended what was right, you defended your family, and you defended yur land and belongings. The police was there AFTER THE FACT to either arrest or collect bodies. After all, an armed guy threatening your family is perfectly ok to shoot. Now, "let the police do it. its their job". Hmph.
--Is there an episode of any show from the 60s and seventies which did not involve fights and violence? Well maybe but they are pretty rare.
Little House on the Prarie was a western with little violence. And that was quite popular in that time too. When you make a western in the age of settlers, you deal with oppurtunists who're willing to screw you over. Back in those days, if they try to hurt you, you had all rights to kill them.
--It's remarkable to me how this worwhip of violence and defining your manhood by how many people you hurt and kill permeated our society to such level that we can't seem to go five years without dropping bombs on somebody or another.
Have you actually played a AD&D tabletop game? There's a lot more than just "game" that goes on.
Thats probably the best way to do this ;)

I use this as one example why Companies have no ethics or morality.
It's also why I purchase durable products, and ones I cannot, I do the following...
Had to buy CRAP item X. When (not if) it breaks, I buy a new one, swap contents, and return the old one in new packaging. It was "defective".
If a company can play the "I can make shit merchandise, and provide no better items" game, I can play switcheroo.
Demand root or not run.
Then it will probably install invasive kernel modules to "ensure" you do nothing of the sort.
You know, the GPL seems just like another set of "legal documents"..
Lemee see...
Clear and understandable? Yep
Short as need be? Yep
It's an agreement? Yep
Sure sounds like Our Constitution..

WHy is this game called "Mother" ? That name's just plain stupid.
Thanks for everyone who posted a response. Now I actually read the story ;)
Too bad for the asswipe moderators who thought this post was "offtopic".
I guess asking for the story to be posted here is "offtopic" when its slashdotted.
The site's already trashed...

Anybody have a karma-whoratic post of full body text
Its a combination of things... Ill give a list.

Go read Greg Egan's works, or something else like the 4 books of Hyperion.
May you live in interesting times.

If she did that, get the bitch locked up for a few weeks.
