I'm a Mozilla user. I don't use Firefox. I'm guessing that Mozilla is affected by this as well, but every time a security flaw is found, only Firefox is mentioned.
Just thought I would point that out. This affects all browsers that use Sun's Java runtime. Mozilla just happens to be one of them. Also, the user must agree to run the program. I have yet to see an exploit of Mozilla where the machine is infected merely by clicking a link. There have been many of these for IE.
First of all, this program is beta, and should not be subject to review. Secondly, I've found all of the anti-spyware programs to be ineffective. They will remove a lot of it, and detect most, but there are a lot of spyware out there that these programs will not remove, and must be removed manually.
These spyware programs employ some pretty nasty tricks. We've found that with some of them, we need to remove the hard drive completely and put them on a seperate system to be removed, or use something like Knoppix, or BartPE, which loads a different OS instead, so the files can be removed.
I suppose a GPS reciever could be used to track speeders. I have one of those handheld GPS recievers, and when used in my car, it gets a very accurate measure of my current speed. But why use a GPS when the car's internal electronics can give you even more details and with greater accuracy?

Word has it that Santa's Ion Shield (tm) is running Linux. This year he's upgraded to the 2.6 Kernel, allowing him to process your cookies more efficiently.
Ah ok. Didn't think about the christmas season:) The store I used to work at would still give a hard time if you didn't have a reciept though, but they do eaze up a bit. Yeah, they will give you a store credit, which must be used at Best Buy. You can always unload it on ebay though for cash at slightly less than face value.
Actually MS does update their install CD's when there are major updates like service packs. As soon as SP2 is released, they will update the install CD's. Just as the current install CD's on retail shelves have SP1 slipstreamed on them.
Best Buy will not let you return an item without a reciept. I know of only 2 or 3 cases when this happened, and it involved a lot of grief. This scam is not work.
In almost all cases, they will know if the product was returned before they send the rebate. Each reciept has a transaction number. It will be flagged as returned and they will not send the rebate. The rebate fulfillment house has access to these records.
They lied to you. The PSP does indeed cover the LCD screen. And yes, the terms do change sometimes, but if you kept your PSP brochure, they have to go by what it says on the brochure that you have. But it has never excluded the LCD screen. I would either try going back and talk to someone else, or try a different Best Buy store. Or call 1-888-Best-buy.
InfraLynx builds various vehicles now being used by the Homeland Security dept and the military. They have mobile cell towers, satellite uplinks, and all kinds of communications equipment.
Ever since last year, roadrunner has been blocking inbound ports 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 445, 520, 593, and 1026 in most areas. They learned their lesson from the Blaster worm. WHy other ISP's haven't done the same thing amazes me. Unlike most of you, who deal with corporate networks, I have to deal with the public on this. I must of removed this worm from at least 40 PC's yesterday. Most of them users of Verizon DSL, or MSN. None of them who had Roadrunner were infected.
I have to agree. Starcraft has an excellent storyline that really makes you care about the characters. I have to say it's near the top of my list too. Second only to Deus Ex. Actually I can't decide which of those is my favorite.

I've been doing this for years. Now the feds have their hands on this technology. Run for cover!

This just will not fly with customers. Paying to fix problems caused by bugs in an OS the customer has already paid for ?
The reason the program expires is because it is beta. They don't want you using beta version after it is officially released.
DLP's are not nearly as expensive as Plasma displays, which do not look nearly as good.

EMachines PC's still put a sticker on the case. If you open the case, the sticker says "void". It doesn't actually void the warranty though.
The "Evil Bit" has already been won by the Microsoft Corporation(TM).

FireFox takes just as long to load as Mozilla on my computer. Mozilla has gotten much faster lately. It opens in under 4 seconds on my Athlon XP 1800+

If you are running Win9x (95, 98, or Millenium), then it is not going to show up as a critical update. It only affects NT machines, like 2000 or XP.
