I was hired as a linux admin, not a NT/2000/XP admin. I took the job because of my feelings against Windows in a hope that the company I work for will steer clear of MS products.
there the ones that find security holes in our networks in order to facilitate natural selection of higher quality code.
if it wasn't for people finding security risks in code the world's computers and the internet infrastructure could fall flat on its face with one well placed trojan/virus.
ya know, its funnny. I knew I could do a quick search for "how not to build.." in the comments for this article and find something. I have had great luck with ECS myself.
actually.. technically if you could go back in time you could kill your grandfather- but, like every event it creates a new set of possibilities and alternate realities. it would effect your time line. this has been a virtually 'proven' aspect of quantum physics for years. i wish they would stop dumbing it down into stupid analogies. good analogies would be much more helpful.;)
I hope this country doesn't do to the internet what has been done to radio and television (only large companies/organizations can broadcast content). I like the idea of being able to create a completely unregulated website, say whatever I want, and most it up on the internet for all to see. The commercialization of the internet frightens me. The government monitoring and controlling content, or worse, large corporations, is disturbing at best.
from tfa: "does this belong here?"
well in the spirit of distributed open source development it would let other developers know that that code might need some work.
please.. it is really way too early for anyone to be taking my post seriously. I read tfa. I still stand by the well known fact that De Raadt has never used unix in his life.
people may not like change, but people WILL change under certain circumstance. How do you think microsoft went from having virtually none of the browser market to almost all of it in just a coupole of years? Exposure. If you show someone something new, and they like it better than what they're used to, they will switch. Worked on my very computer unsavvy family.;)
Don't short quote me. i said "not being ready for the masses applies to windows as well- the available linux GUIs are every bit as 'ready' as windows.". I was saying if Linux cannot be called 'ready for the masses' than neither can windows. Windows isn't any 'easier' to use. Most people are familiar with its quirks.
while you were gone: ... ;)
windows xp, open source revolution, highend 3d graphics, agp > 1x, flat panel monitors, broadband,

actually they serve as a healthy secondary income. ;)

i posted a correction to my post saying you would NOT be able to effect your timeline. I did RTFA. Dumbass didn't read my correction.
my last post should have read it would NOT effect your timeline

If I copy it once, what's to stop me from making a copy of my first burned copy?

he obviously isn't a unix user. Just because it doesn't copy windows doesn't mean its "crap".
was it slashdotted or dDos'd?

you must be from the south. come back when you learn some manners, lose the racist undertone, and get rid of the southern (eww) accent.
no, because its a trademark (tm), not a patent.
thankyou for pointing out the fud spread about the catholic church.
it isn't "nerdy" even for slashdot. yes, RTFA, it presents a very easy to understand example.
