  1. Infringement? on New Commercial Word Processor For FreeBSD · · Score: 1, Insightful

Maybe I am unclear on the copyright infringement thing and everything, but doesn't this conflict with MS in some way?!

I mean, Open Office is freeware (also works on FreeBSD) but they're selling something like this with Word capabilities? I smell trouble...or maybe it's just me ;-)

BTW, I am not a fan of commercial apps for OSS platforms, seems contradicting somehow

Good job NetBSD, come on guys, give them some credit, they run netBSD on more platforms than almost anyone else.

This is an actual question, wasn't Wind River one of the major contributors to the fantastic development work done on FreeBSD?

If so, how could this be _bad_ for linux in any way shape or form? Even if you don't like the company, linux-heads should wake up and realize, any company that's investing in linux and open source is GOOD, look how far FreeBSD has come from 386/BSD and FreeBSD 2.x

NetBSD is not exactly meant to be a large robust desktop type system, or support everything like the latest GNOME, or KDE versions or various servers. FreeBSD is meant for that, NetBSD is to work on almost everything with a CPU, RAM, and storage device. (OpenBSD is meant for security, duh)

Each of these has their niche, robustness is not NetBSD's, sorry
