Let me tell you; I own stock in Red Hat, I've researched their business strategies fervently...and these people know what they are doing with open source software. Red Hat posted a profit of 240,000 for the last quarter, the first profit EVER for a company mainly based on open-source software. Red Hat is moving forward, and fast, and there is no denying that soon, very soon, they could destroy Microsoft's server market share, and possibly kill poor ol' Sun Micrososystems(who I also own stock in). Red Hat, by the way, is a steal at its current 12.81 price, but I got in at 10.70.;-)
Couldn't this easily be bypassed...just break the thing?
OR, WHAT IF it did break, then you cannot get into your computer? I am a bit confused as to exactly how this would keep the computer much safer than it already would be with a properly difficult password...and maybe a roll of duct tape.;-)
This is just stupid. Very unintelligent. If you think about it, really, there are many free Linux apps( a great aspect of the OS), which can do the same as, if not more than, many Microsoft apps. So, then, why would these people want to run Microsoft Windows, under emulation? I mean, if they really want to, that badly, they need to just buy some damn Windows machines...there's nothing wrong with that if that's what they are after.
I think it is sick that any organization, city, government, whatever, would buy a bunch of linux machines just for the PR they would get by running linux machines and then use them for Windows applications!
If they want PR, they should get it elsewhere, but this, in my opinion, is a sickening way to obtain media attention for Linux, and I think Linus Torvalds would agree.
There's always OpenOffice.org, instead of MS Office....
Okay, okay, this is all well and good. I think the thing is cool as anything I've seen in the PDA market, but we all have to keep something very important in mind: the price. I hope I'm not the only one who has realized this thing will undoubtedly be as expensive, if not MORE expensive than the $800 NZ-90, which may be worth its weight but is still too expensive for the average income-bringer.
I wish that Sony could, instead of constantly coming out with expensive, fully-equipped PDAs, come out with a few solid, varied budget machines.
THe SJ-22(or whatever it is) is a good PDA, and cheap, but Sony should be able to provide more in that price range.
Still, I am very excited about the prospects of wardriving with a laptop-style PalmPilot!
I should also point out to the unknowing that this model shares a close form factor(not size) with two Japanese Sony Micro-notebooks, which are available from Dynamism, the U3 and the U101.
Is it really contained?

SARS Contained

Personally, I'm skeptical as to whether the disease is really contained...I will believe that Toronto is safe for now, but I disagree with anyone saying that China's SARS is contained.
China is a huge nation, and I feel that if SARS went largely untreated over there(which is likely), then there could most certainly be a threat for people in China, and travelers, and for that matter all Asian countries.
Now, everyone is saying how China's SARS outbreak is largely over, and I disagree. I think the Chinese government is hiding more than they wish to reveal. China is a budding superpower, and they wouldn't want something like this to tarnish their reputation, so they hide it.
There's more to this than the media's telling us, I feel...

Well, there's always eBay.
I mean, you can buy dead animals on eBay. Surely you can find this "802.1x".
Of course, I'm far too advanced to need that....I'm using laser-guided soap dispensers.
Crap. That's classified information.
You heard nothing. *Flash*
But, I thought Swedes don't download anything really all that infringing except for all that porn of their absolutely drop-dead beautiful women of theirs, right?
I'm wonderfully happy to live in a world where the only large-scale communication network is prone to mass disruption and/or destruction at the drop of a pin.
Great.
Unfortunately for myself, I am a Mac user, and unfortunately for myself(again), when IBM and SCO stop their half-naked brawl in the mudpit, the PPC 970 processor will take longer to get over here on the Mac side.
Thanks again, Mr. SCO.

If things continue on this exponential curve of stupidity, then Adobe should be bought out by Phillip Morris sometime in October.
Hey, why NOT have a Photoshopped image of Liza Minelli smoking her life away on the box?

I guess for the third straight year my ultrafast 17 kiloflop TI-83 calculator didn't make the list... :sigh:

Does this mean it will be any easier for me to learn Java? Probably not. Will I ever learn Java? Of course. Let's be honest, Qweez No. Probably not.
