Jury nullification would never happen in modern America. Americans are for the most part a bunch of docile sheep. Never would you get any random 12 Americans to agree in principle to jury nullification. Good luck finding 12 random Americans who even know what this is. A Not Guilty verdict, sure, but never will all 12 jurors acknowledge "nullifying" the law.
Nice job paying a collections bill that you didn't even owe. Your credit got destroyed, you gave the company exactly what they wanted, and after that was over I bet they sent you yet another bill. If they haven't yet, they will now that they know you're an easy mark.
The proper way to deal with pirates is to kill them on the spot. No other method works. Jurisdictional issues are a nightmare, so criminal trial is out of the question. No need for needless brutality by sending home their body parts or anything like that; just shoot them and feed them to the sharks. If there are any legal inquiries after the fact, just remember they fired first and the victim ship was doing what was necessary to save the lives of the crew. Nobody needs to hear any differently.
Well it is in fact very unlikely the phones walked themselves into the park after hours and then walked out of the park all on their own. Unless the phones had all been reported stolen or something, I think its a pretty reasonable explanation that the phone records prove that trespassing took place.
HIPAA does nothing more than create mountains of paperwork (or electronic forms). It makes no real difference in privacy in any meaningful way, but it sure does keep a lot of HIPAA consultants employed.
1. You're wrong. Please cite the "international law" you claim was violated.
2. Even if you were right about the killing being technically illegal, so what? Sometimes what's right and what's legal aren't exactly the same thing. If you cannot comprehend this simple fact then you have huge huge problems.
A CEO's job, above and beyond all else, is to sell the company. It is far more important than "running" the company which is usually done by a COO or someone like that.
It's worth going to an elite college because elite colleges give better grades for the same work. As a student your goal is to get the best grades possible to get into the best graduate school.
Sad but true. That is now the way the academic world works. The Gentleman's C is long past.
The same reason they haven't stopped extra fees for bag checking and all the other bullshit: they don't care if people like flying or not. They just cut capacity to the point that their planes are always full from the number of people who will fly no matter what. The worst thing the U.S. ever did for air travel was bail out airlines that should have gone bust long ago. We would have much better air service now if the dinosaur companies had been allowed to die.
TSA is only concerned with the latest threat of the day, which still happens to be liquids. They'll find a water bottle right away, only to ignore the hunting knife right next to it.
Illinois actually banned this. Smoking is not permitted in any "structure" whatsoever. The only purpose I can assume is to punish smokers by making sure they smoke in the rain/snow/sleet.
As an aside, all of these anti-smoking laws that suddenly popped up all around the world in most cases have nothing to do with the will of the people. Anti-tobacco groups, secretly funded by Big Pharma, put heavy lobbying pressure (and bribes) on legislators all over the world. For your health, of course. Coincidentally, smoking cessation products are VERY profitable for pharmaceutical companies.
Its also a typical case of mission creep. Every bureaucracy must justify their existence and continue to expand in order to justify more money and more people. These federal monsters need to be clawed back before the US faces European rates of taxation to pay for it all.
I'm glad to know that this is the kind of freedom the brave Palestinian fighters are fighting Israel for. To have a Taliban lifestyle imposed on themselves.
For some reason this only applies to physical products, or so it seems. Software companies can offer you anything or nothing once they've gotten your money.

Because mdsolar is full of shit and he didn't expect you to call him on it.
It also helps that the fire extinguisher doesn't try to grab your balls.
Body scanners are not used outside the United States because Michael Chertoff's company would not make money on them.

A government agency in charge of deciding which sites to block. I can't imagine anything going wrong here, no way.

A fool and his money...
The cloud will solve all of our problems.

"be subject to periodic penetration tests sponsored by the government"
Just like commercial airline passengers.
And the TSA is capable of stopping none of this.

You mean those representatives we keep re-electing, so long as they promise us more "free" stuff paid for with our own money?
Exactly. Christianity had its renaissance long ago and emerged from the Dark Ages, where Islam is still stuck.
Tyranny of the minority can be far worse. And happens often, especially in school districts, small towns, etc.
