If you want to know what torpedoed the microwave cloths dryer here is your answer in one word, zippers. Ever put a piece of metal in your microwave by accident? If so you will have noticed that this results in an effect that looks remarkibly like lightning, and is also perfectly capable of igniting anything flamable(I once lit a carton of ice-cream on fire this way, oops). I for one don't want my zipper to ignite my pants when I put them in the dryer.

Excuse me, but even though there is a remote possibility of two matches, what are the odds thet the second match was anywhere near the area at the time of the crime, also if there are multiple matches don't you think that they would then test more markers untill the two profiles match? The only time that you are going to get two that are perfectly identical are in cases involving identical twins (or maybe clones twenty years down the line).

in case you hadn't noticed, they weren't demanding anything, they were requesting.
regardless of which way they go about it they still get what they want, all they were saying to Microsoft is that they wanted Linux on Xbox, and they were going to get it. They just offered Microsoft a choice, wether or not the exploit would allow the use of pirated software. All that Microsoft would have to do is give them the source code and they would make their exploit disallow pirated software, without the source code they can't add this to their exploit.
