Your programs will be run, your emails will be read and your pr0n will be viewed often to make sure there is no bitrot. Send me new warez and pr0n - er, ah, um - I, uh, mean, daily back-ups to make sure your data is safe
..I actually got here by clicking the "Read More" link --- and --- it ACTUALLY WORKED by getting me where I wanted to go!!! But the other links here don't work any better than the ones on the front page..
damn...
..I wonder if my "back" and "home" buttons are working...
When I posted this the story had been up for 7 plus hours but has only 99 comments. I would imagine even less than that have ever let ICANN know their feelings about how ICANN should be run.
ICANN sees apathy from the community so they just do as they please because they don't think anyone will ever complain.
I asked my email-pal: "UNIX or Windoze?". He replied "UNIX". I said "Ah...me too!".
I asked my email-pal: "Linux or AIX?". He said "Linux, of course". I said "Me too".
I asked him: "Emacs or vi". He replied "Emacs". I said "Me too. Small world."
I asked him: "GNU Emacs or XEmacs?", and he said "GNU Emacs". I said "oh, me too."
I asked him "GNU Emacs 19 or GNU Emacs 20"? and he said "GNU Emacs 19". I said "oh, me too."
I asked him, "GNU Emacs 19.29 or GNU Emacs 19.34", and he replied "GNU Emacs 19.29". I said "DIE YOU OBSOLETE NOGOOD SOCIALLY MALADJUSTED CELIBATE COMMIE FASCIST DORK!", and never emailed him again.
Interesting idea the RIAA has, lets expand on it..

So by this way of thinking, banks, convenience stores, etc should be able to do drive-by shootings on houses and neighborhoods they think are housing robbers???
Could the police get several hundred people to drive past street corners where they know drug traffickers hang out so folks who are really looking to buy drugs can't stop to buy???

It's me again. Did more searches on Google for Battlebots and IRC. The only things I could find mentioning the two together are msgs on IRC talking about the TV show battlebots. If this guy had something going on the net this long I think Google would have found at least something of it by now. Cyber-squating fer sure.
I did a search on Google for Battlebot and it's derivatives and looked at the results returned hoping to find a cached copy or something pointing to battlebot.org. I found no pages pointing to or mentioning battlebots.org in the first 20 pages of results I looked thru. I vote he's cyber-squatting. But, I still think lawyer$ and big corporation$ sometimes do the wrong thing just because they can.
Now you know what a server is, and I know what a server is, but my ISP seems to have a very broad definition of what a server is, and they seem to change it to suit their needs
Me and you know what servers are but @home sure doesn't have a clue. My chances of sending or receiving mail for the last 2 weeks have been 50/50. Tonite their DNS and mail servers are screwed up again. I can send mail but not receive and I can surf only if I type in the IP address.
I seem to remember mention of an ISP customers bill of rights some time back but can't find it now. Anyone remember it?
a rocket could reach Mars in only 2 weeks
Reaching Mars in 2 weeks means the rocket would have to accelerate really fast. But when it gets there its going to have to slow down to land. Is this accounted for in the speed claims?
Like in the movie Space Balls, they were traveling at "ludicrous speed". They wanted to stop but they were going to fast, they had to slow down first.
Somehow I don't think the ordinary teen reading Slashdot is out there creating their own Linux distribution. I must really be behind the times or very very far below average.
I've been doing it with junk snail mail for years. I save up the junk mail that contains postage paid envelopes, go thru it to make sure my name/address/bar code info, etc is not in it. Then swap the info among several different senders and pitch it in the mail. Surely the folks trying to sell me vacation condos need info on panty hose that don't run. And I know the credit card companies are thrilled to get info on how to avoid bankruptsy. It even helps the postal service earn more bucks.
