Yes, and no one on this floor has a plant AFAIK. In fact, AFAIK there are no plants in the entire building.
Can't computers be `nurtured' ? I sort of feel healthy every time I upgrade a component or apply the latest security updates;)
Is Xandros not "REAL" ? It too facilitates use of Wine.
If you don't like Wine, don't use it. I really don't have a problem with some folks wanting Linux to run photoshop, office, games, or whatever. Contribute to e.g. The GIMP and OpenOffice.org projects if you have a problem with this. Make them good enough for everyone to switch.
And since when does the default `look' define whether Linux distributions are "REAL" ? There are literally millions of Window Manager and Theme combinations available. Pick whichever you like and quit complaining about matters of taste.

Simple: don't add any formating tags whatsoever...
She says that helping others can make you feel good. From this she says that therefore
the ONLY reason to do it is to make you feel good, and the ONLY thing it does is make you feel good. And from that she goes further and says that since you feel good everyone else must therefore want the worst for everyone else.
What they're doing is being virtuous AND the OPPOSITE of to hell with everyone else. It doesn't really matter why you do it... if it makes you feel good that DOES NOT mean that is the only reason to do it. It may actually be a good/moral in and of itself independent of one's feelings about it.
Why not do it because it may actually be good/moral in and of itself and independent of one's feelings about it?
Indeed... all this rhetoric against pirated copies of XP and they neglect to address the priates' choice.
For those not yet in the know (c'mon guys, it's been out for years)... Corporate XP Pro is identical to XP Pro except for its lack of any sort of activation or anti-piracy checks.
It was supposed to only be released to Microsoft's large corporate customers, but of course it was leaked long ago.

Ah, but then you would still be running x86 -- and that's just not 1337 enough for/.!

Yeah, the "competitive advantage" of not allowing their competitors to be competitive! This hurts consumers and hurts all companies in the long run. Only the hired mercenaries truly benefit.

1,2,4 are a given...but companionship?
Come on, plants are just plain ordinary. I'd much rather live with a pet martian rock than a pet plant!

What does that mean in English?

MS has proved it's an "evil, monopolizing corporation" whereas google hasn't yet.
:-) The day is still young.

Yes, because Google is still a very young company: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://google.com

If you hadn't posted AC, I would surely have given attribution. But as things stand, I don't see a point to your sarcasm.

This seems like a form of vigilanteism to me.

I think it is clear there is only one group of winners here, and that is the lawyers.
Oh man... two great shows start up at the same time, at the same time, ON THE SAME DAY!
Monk, and now Battlestar Galactica, are on at 10/9c on Friday. On top of that, they are the ONLY two shows I'm watching right now...
How did that happen?
Dude, that's like complaining about The Daily Show and The Oreilly Factor being in the same time slot.
The real question is: Can I use mirrors to watch two channels at once? :)
> When the Libertarian Party's alternative quits being "the government knows nothing", I'll vote for them.
I am a Libertarian, and I don't see anything the Party platform that can be construed as "the government knows nothing."
I would start by saying "the government is terribly inefficient and should be reduced".
