I don't see where I made a judgement. I said that time will tell. But I know right now that one manufacture's sales are up and others are flat. If I'm placing a bet right now, and I have a PC full of spyware and virus', I know who I'm rooting for.
Hey John, I still have the ethernet card you sold to me. I fired the thing up a year ago and the damn thing worked! I had to remember how to edit an AmiTCP config file. Egads!!!

I understand what you are saying. I had an A2000 upgraded with an `040 board and was looking for the next thing. I ended up buying a GVP Spectrum (Sold at the Piccolo in Europe) and got a little of the Cirrus Logic goodness. The card was over $600 in 1993-4!!! Sadly no real clear RTG came about. EGS was unusable and the others were better. It was about that time that my job changed and I was thrown into using PPC Macs. I've got a G5 now, but I've still about 6 Amigas sitting around.
A `93 Avid Media Composer... That was highly compressed motion JPEG going through a NuBus card from Truevision (NuVista). The machine was for editing.
The Toaster was a video switcher and effects device. They were aimed at completely different audiences and it's a problematic issue at best to compare them.
I first saw an Avid in `89 or `90 and witnessed postage stamp sized samples from the original Star Trek series. Around the same time, at an Amiga Expo, I was watching a full screen playback of Star Wars digitized in HAM mode on an Amiga 500. The playback was coming from the hard drive. Sadly, they weren't showing off any kind of productive software, they were just showing off the speed of the SCSI controller. The picture quality was surprisingly good though.
I was a senior in high school in 1987. I was involved in both art and the television departments at my school. I remember the day that my instructor told me that he was buying an Amiga for the TV studio. A what? That was a toy from Commodore! My teacher put a video tape in the deck and played a 15 minute demo of the Amiga making all these images, animations and other cool stuff.
The machine arrived on a Saturday and I rode my 10-speed three miles just to be there when it did.
I forgot to say... "Hello Seeker! Now don't be afraid, because there's a seeker born every minute..."

I've dealt with one diploma mill and their product. The AII is one of those that in generally laughed at. The one I have personal dealings with is Full Sail in Orlando. If you wish to be taken seriously, stay away from the Art Institutes and Full Sail. (This excludes the Art Institute of Chicago.)
There is also a "Media Watch" type program called "Fox News Watch" on, what else, Fox News. It airs Saturday at 6:30pm EST. It's the only appointment viewing I have all week. It's insightful and entertaining, and manages to do both at the same time. They have even (gasp) questioned Fox News motives on occasion.
The panel is two on the right and two on the left. The moderator attempts to stay in the center. I'm serious, it's a very well done show, and the moderator Eric Burns is a great host. It's probably the best show on Fox News.
Yeah, I remember him coming on TV and saying that he had a relation that wasn't right... etc.. etc... I just have a problem with the whole lying to a Grand Jury thing. Even if he didn't do anything wrong to Paula, I still have a problem with someone feeling that they are above the law.
I am glad he helped with the tsunami relief.
Gore on the other hand, sort of went off the cliff. Made Dean look calm and collected.
A common site? Yeah, every day, when I go into work I see ONE BMW in the parking lot. The rest is mostly a mix of Hondas, Toyotas, Fords and Chevrolets.
What kind of elitist bastard are you? You that doesn't drive a BMW is so superior to those that do? Therefore you have no desire to drive any vehicle that would subject you to German engineering? Yeah right!
Like this Friday night where you are once again alone at home writing Inane AC messages? What kind of angry music is Media Player telling you to listen to now?
If I recall correctly, Final Cut was being developed by the former developer of Adobe Premiere. News stories had been floating around for a couple of years about it's development at Macromedia. Suddenly it was sold to Apple and they brought it to fruition.
IMHO, Microsoft's name doesn't factor into this. I think Adobe was more concered with Apple. At NAB, all of the buzz surrounds Apple and Final Cut. While there may not have been any imminent Apple buyout of Macromedia, there is the concern at to what Apple's next move will be.
Microsoft already has some giant brains that know about everything there is to know about making paint programs. They do not need to buy Macromedia for that. (look up the name Alvy Ray Smith and Jim Blinn)
Apple is making a lot of people nervous. I see Avid's purchase of Pinnacle Systems as part of the wake of Apple's move into video editing and effects compositing.
Then why did the masses vote him into office? I for one am both proud to be an Apple shareholder and proud that the president chooses to use the same music player that I do. Now, his taste in music leaves something to be desired, but I can deal with that. You on the other hand, probably can't deal with anything.
So you're saying that if Apple made a music player that looked and acted like the WMA compatible players, Apple would still be the market leader? Thank you sir, for your strong belief in Apple! We need more consumers like you!
From the few messages here, I'm sensing a bit of frustration or anger over the fact that the majority of MP3 players lack radio detectors. If this is such a problem, why are the top digital music players still lacking this function? Could it be that people who desire radio in an MP3 player are either in the minority or work for Microsoft? As I work in radio, I can't say that I blame the majority for not wanting it.

Outpace: Root word, "Pace"
Apple's sales have increased at a pace far beyond that of the rest of the PC world.
This is different than current market-share, which you seem to be confusing with the rate-of-growth.
If this foretells of a trend, then you have a problem. Something only time can tell.

Mongo goes where Intel goes!
There are so many.... Which one was yours?

I dare not, as you are Mr. Coleco Adam Zealot and I dare not tread there.
Who is more anal retentive? The legit poster, or the AC that keeps on Trolling?
You see, once the world starts spinning faster, you lightweight AC's will be flung into the void of space.
It's what will separate the wheat from the chafe.

it just MIGHT work.
Oh my god, your brilliance is astounding...

Why? The Dems are doing such a fantastic job of imploding, all by themselves. The GOP doesn't have to do anything.
Clinton did not get a majority of VOTERS in 1992. What is your point? You actually thought America was a democracy? It's a republic.
Eh, Both of you just shut the hell up.
Three demerits for smiley abuse.
If you have "Better things to worry about" , why did you post? Ahhh, I know, you actually don't have things to worry about. You don't Admin.

So, really, Have we got a video?
Are you now, or were you ever a reader of Slashdot? :)
