I understand your response. Sorry for jumping to conclusions there.
And seriously, I like Canadians. I worked for one for a few years. The best boss I ever had.
Politically I'm on the right, but I can't stand the "religious right". I guess there is a fine line sometimes that is hard to discern. (I'm not saying there is anything wrong with believing in religion either) Perhaps I'm more libertarian.
Now, you mention that you do not feel Bin laden is stupid... By that same token, can I take away that you also give credit to Hitler for not being stupid?
You seem to suggest that Bin Laden and Al Queda only target American Interests. I seem to recall a bombing in Spain, plots to bomb elsewhere in Europe, Car bombs in Iraq, bombings in Egypt, Asia... I think Bin Laden has done a pretty good job of pissing off about everybody. Are you not pissed off?
Greed for Oil? Last time I checked, Canadians also drove cars. I'm also 100% sure that there are other products manufactured in Canada that use petroleum products. I'm sorry, I must not impugn that Canadians would lower themselves to use products derived from oil. They must all be using bio-diesel instead of petrol, and cellophane instead of Saran.
I'm not sure why, but I suddenly wish to visit the cafe section of my local Target store. I have also amassed a large collection of quarters. Can someone explain this???
I tend to side with Christopher Hitchens and I don't think the Iraq war was ever about WMDs. This is about a first step, a foothold in the region from which we can sow the seeds of a more stable middle east.
I don't wish for the US to be a occupying force, but for the short term we will be derided and vilified. Nothing new here.
And perhaps you would be like Stalin, and force me to listen to Al Frankin? And a distraction from what? You want me to pay more attention to your Liberal whining?:P
My feeling, from my own experience, is that we will be spending most of the 21st century trying to archive all of that analog information left from the 20th. That is why the 21st will dissappear from history.
I have a G3 mini-tower system that "still runs". In fact it runs 24/7 every day. It's actually used as a file server and as a workstation, every day. So, what are you using those 386sx/25 systems for?
Errr, ahhh. I believe that OS X is built on the Mach Microkernel. Yes, some of the underpinnings are FreeBSD, but the kernel was developed by Avi Tevanian... who came from NeXT and Jobs brought to Apple.
I only spent a small amount of time with with a Model II, but I would bet that you meant 6800. The Model II that I briefly played with was a payroll system for a local furniture company, that had been given to the art department of the college I was attending... with all of the floppies full of data on Giant Furniture. back then I was spending all of my time trying to get the PS/2 Model 60 running properly with Windows 2.1. Sadly I didn't get to spend much time with the Tandy. It probably would have been more fun.
I remember being 10 or 11 years old in the early `80's and seeing an ad for the ZX81 in the back of a Popular Science mag. I really wanted one of those things as I had not yet used a computer or owned one. A few years later, after I had been using an Atari 800, bought a Timex-Sinclair 1000 from a kid at school who didn't want it. Even after using the Atari, I thought the TS-1000 was cool. Now, over 20 years later, I'm talking to a 18 year old kid at work. He has a TS-1000 from a yard sale and doesn't know a thing about it. Even more sad, he's not even tried to use it. There is a whole generation or more that only knows Windows and have no idea what is underneath. Yeah, the kid is a geek and knows HTML, but is afraid of the stuff underneath. How sad!
Nothing is free. And I actually own an iPod. (10GB 2nd Gen) (joy!)
I checked out one of those links for a "free" iPod. Wait, you want my first born child? My Social Scurity number? The names of everyone I know on this planet?...and any other planet? Ack!
I used a video paint system called a ColorGraphics DP-Max that used i860s. That system was used for digital compositing and commercials in the early 1990's. Anyone remember the diet coke spot with Elton John with all of the deceased movie stars?
The i960s are used on PCI bus cards. I have an ICE card that has one i960, and a bunch of RISC chips on it (Philips I believe) they were used in Macs and PC for effects rendering. The i960 is also used in Pinnacle Systems products.

Would a true Canadian post as AC?

I'll have to ask my mom again, but there is someone in my family who was a "higher-up" at RC Cola. This could be interesting. Thanks for the story!

Oooooooh. That means so much coming from an AC.
Osama is alive... Yes I know that. So?
Stronger than ever? Where is your proof?

Have you ever worked typesetting?
OMG! I almost choked to death on a dorito when I read that. :)
OK, how about... Humans should not internally consume iPod shuffle.
Quote: "ill-fated Iraq war"
Sounds like the same tripe you were writing after the battle of Normandy.
I wouldn't fire someone for expressing their views, but I will call you a weenie.
Hate to tell you this but... Rush uses a Mac.
P.S. I like listening to him sometimes!
Oh sure. We're not supposed to drill for oil in the Gulf, but it's ok to build an island of garbage there?

*GROAN*
:)
If I had mod points, I'm not sure which way I would mod for that.
If anything, I learned something today.

BTW, I am a shareholder in Apple.
I think someone needs a hug.

You wouldn't by chance listen to Neal Bortz on the radio, would you?
Perhaps they got their information from CBS News?
Free iPod == selling your soul

I see you're part of the Democrat sponsored "No Geek Left Behind" initiative.
