$499 - $599 vs. Revmote-style control It's like these guys can't decide whether they want to win or lose. not to mention the revmote's amazing new control abilities vs. being called 'Wii' etc.

Seconded. I recently went a step up from my old pair to the PSC 250's, which have a closed design and noise cancelling, for about $100-110. The increase per price isn't as dramatic as the 100's though, which are nearly impossible to beat for their size and price, and the submitter wanted to be able to hear people, anyways.

What about UT2004. I'm sorry, that was a blockbuster game too, if anything is.

  11. Re:Buy it! on Halo Demo For PC Now Available · · Score: 1

Based off of the demo, there's no chance of me getting it. The graphics were at best on par with UT2003 on the standard settings. I had just finished reconfiguring the controls, when I walked up to a vehicle, and it told me to press E to get in. I had configured the game the way I always do, with E set to foward. I had to change my key config just to get into the thing. That kind of ignorance to quality is just stupid. And this was just a minute in to playing it! Oh yeah, and it's by Microsoft. I just had to add the obligatory M$ bashing at the end. Okay, not exactly the end. 2 other things: When I tried to exit out, it made me watch a 45 secondish "BUY ME" ad thing at the end, which seemingly can't be skipped. After exiting out, my computer ran at half speed for a good minute when I was trying to go to Slashdot.

  12. Re:CGI or SFX? on Movie Landmarks for CGI Effects? · · Score: 1

I think that Final Flight of the Osiris had really good human animation, but the biggest problem with it is facial expression. Anger looks really fake, when usually the expression is pretty good. A nice example is when one of the gunners says, "Come get some!" The person's forehead isn't wrinkled at all, but the rest of her face looks like she's angry. Also, when she talks, her mouth moves a lot, but her cheeks and jaw seem to stay still, and all that moves is the small area around her mouth, which stretches too much to be possible. They would also be a lot more realistic in certain shots if the skin was textured, rather than a flat surface. The fabric texture could also be better.
