I was playing through the summer and I understand what he means. It has nothing to do with server stuff.
There is a huge combat imbalance. It started off slow. They end up nerfing all the classess because the other class is too strong. They proposed a great shift even before last January. Every month, the devs would point to the upcoming rebalance. In july one of them said that the balance was a myth. No work has been done, and that no-one knew what they were talking about. They also said that they would fix thigns after the new Jump TO Lightspeed was out (oct). So they were rudhing out an-add on (that you had to pay for), onto a beta-quality game (that was being payed for). Everyone was preatty pissed.
even if there was no 'combat balance' there were so many thematic things that were never done.
Darth Vader never left the area he was in. Same with Bobba. There was no real sense of things that they should be People suggested that the player professions should start in certain towns. You wanna be a smuggler/bounty hunter.. go to Mos Eisly "where all the scum and villany congregate' etc. etc.
Tons of things along those lines.
Not too mention Jedis. Lets not.

I was watching a documentary on an air accident many years ago. The commercial jet, had its cargo door blown off in mid flight.
As the show had explained, there was some mechanical problems that Boeing knew about, and had warned tha airlines to fix them. It took 8 hours to fix, and it was deemed ok to do them as they went. The mechananism was a turning lock, and some aluminum blocks came down to keep it all in place. Turns out that the aluminum wasnt strong enough, if the locking mechanism turned by itself.
The other part is that the big handle on the outside was supposed to have disconeccted the motor that unlocked the door. Turns out that it didnt work. They locked the hatch and hit the button, and the door popped open.
They figgured that it was a short that caused the door to open. Deppresurising the cabin.
Now, whats to keep me from beleiving that someone dosent blow the weapons door, or knock the alignment out? I mean wasn't one of Americas best and brightest that sent that probe to Mars, with some bad conversions from metric to standeard ?
So what happens if that thing goes out of whack and decideds to bow up a commercial airliner instead ?

I find it wild that a couple of our MP's were asked to resign cause they called Bush an Idiot, when the media where near-bye.(in order to 'preserve relations' with the us) however all these crimes going on in the prisons in Git - Bay and in Iraq, Rumsfeld was told that he could stay ?
Sure Bush and Kerry both talk a lot about the war. There is no denying that the Shrub. dragged everyone in.
I look at Bush, and he puts such a spin on it. Akin to 'knder gentler precision strikes'.
Kerry knows what its about. And understands the need to win and get out. Not just posture.

Hmmm I play a Bounty HUnter on Bloodfin (Osib)
About a month or so ago,they release all these Jedi 'upgrades'. Things that finally put us over the edge.
They made them unkillable. The whole idea from the devs, is that the BH's are supposed to kill the jedi.
We were upset that everything that we put into the BH, was for nothing. All of our 'special attacks' were cut down to nothing, if they stuck at all. The whole idea that the more specials you use, the more ya hurt yoursef.
They also cut the time to switch weapons to seconds. Meaning that any tatcitc that you used to use was for nothing. Not to mention that there is no defense mods.
To hunt jedi you had to pick the missions off of terminals. So, they get the missions fixed, but the droids that we used to find them, were cooked.
So you actually had to go out and find the jedi.
e had to master scout, marksman, and BH to beome BH, that used up 220 (or so) skill points out of 250.
One day, we decided that we had had enough. Someone called a sit in. We all went down, to the starport in Corronet (Big meeting place) and basically took it over. Saying how upset we were. There was at least 20 of us. How we were promised fixes for monthsm, and now nothing.
We were told that there was a skil point reduction in the works, that they were gonna knock off 3 skill trees from scout (useless to everyone) and alow us to seek other ways to compete. this was supposed to be in the balance.
Because we had bitched so much, and made that sit in, it, and a few other issues( Working droids now), were fixed. good thing, cause if we would have had to have waited, we would have beenm hosed.
The trouble now, is that there are bugs that allow the jedi to get out of the mission thats on him. Not to mention that they group up all together.
I mean its ridicuous how it goes like that.
Just my 2 cents on this one!
First off, maybe the slightly smaller papersize will reduce the total amount of paper used.
As far as the metric system goes, I use it up here untill it comes to wood, and cable length. 4x8 sheet of ply, 300ft of wire.
Mostly because of being an American product, and that we work with american crews all the time. Hate to confuse them.
As far as why to switch. It makes sense. Everything is a division/multiplication of 10. I can ALMOST figure out why you used 12 inches instead of 10 to make a foot. But why use such an odd number of feet to make a mile? 5240 Not even 5000. Km is 1000meters, half a km is 500, how many feet in a quarter mile ? Nothing makes sense, at that level.
I can understand why WETA wouldn't release any of that, being a for-profit bussiness. We dont see IBM or INTEL posting specifics on how the wafers are made, or the success ratio of the production line.
The article also gives decent reason as to why it costs so much to make a movie. It mostly coes down to timeframes. Most game companies understand this. How many people got upset about Duke Nukom forever ? Imagine the wrath he would face if he had to push the movie back 3 weeks ?

If memeory serves me correctly, Sen. Hatch a few years ago, was involved in some controversy.
His state of D.C. had voted in favour of passing a medical marijuana bill. He passed legislation saying that those votes couldnt be counted.
This sort of thing doesnt surprise me.

There are huge differences between the RIAA and the MPAA. To lump them to together is like lumping MicroSoft and Redhat software together, just because they sell programs.
I agree that most of the contracts for the RIAA is as lucritive for the comanies as I have ever seen. Most of what people ay is true. These artists are making squat. I dont know why the dont get together and collectively go and fight the companies. If they all turned around and said they all want better treatment for everyone, I think that the compnaies would listen. Imagine if Prince, Cortny Love, and Elton John all got together and went after them?
In the MPAA side of things, everyone gets paid for what they do. Stars get the biggest chunk of cash because they draw the biggest. DO you think that 'Kindergarden Cop' would have done as well if Arnie wasn't in it? Everyone knows that what they put into the movie, generally they get back.
The world that we all live in is profit driven. Whether you agree or not. Its not up to me to determine the grand scheme of things. My time is worth XX an hour. Yours might be XX a week, or XXX a website. Prices for the goods that we all produce are set by the maret. No metter how many people are upset by ticket prices, I am preatty sure that all the theatres are full when The Matrix is released. Im sure that there is some places that you can go to that dont charge the full price. Our Silver City in Canada, charges us 12$ at night (14.25 with taxes). During the day before 6pm, that same movie is 8 dollars. I discovered that matinee price as i was taking my niece to see a movie one day. But there are other theatres that charge 8$ at night as well. Ask yourself if you really need to pay that much to see the chickflicks ? I would pay to see the big action movies in the Silver Cities, but not Bridges of Madison county.

The first part is; If his intentions were so honest, and mature, why didnt he just email the owner of the compnay with the information, and a place to look for the solution ? Why did he HAVE to publish it ? He might have even gotten some work helping these guys out.
So, if you had tool lockers at work, and had a combination lock on it. Say there is your own personal test equipment that is quite valuable. Is it ok for me to stand up in your workplace and announce over the intercom, the contents and value of that test kit, and to announce your combination ? Is that not facilitation of a crime ?

Just like there are many different brands of chocolate icecream.
It makes the world a better place.
But its your choice whether you buy Hagendaaz or not.
Same as buying the 'cheep' dvd, or the Extended one.
Personally i have never really listened to any of the voice over stuff.. never seen the point. I can generally get out of the film that what i need.
So, the fact that the IceCream Makers, make their quart of ice cream for less then a dollar, and ship it to you and you pay 4$..
Or the coffee places that make 100X on the cost ?
I dont see anyone getting upset over that ?
I understand the emotions that are behind this..
But what is the difference between someone posting the DECCSS and posting the recipe for CocaCola ??

Didn't he say that he would *never* release that trilogy on DVD ? That everyone that wanted it had to get it on vhs ? Maybe he will eventually do it.

Yes, I work in the entertainment industry. So, a lot of the time im no more then 40ft away from the 120db or so.
1) Tell Bush tha Osama has been spotted hiding in a cave on the moon.
2) Tell Bush that there is oil in them there rocks!
