And why would that be? The Microsoft version looks basically like an $80 knockoff of XBMC. It's just streaming from the PC. The PC still would have to be the device that does the recording a la a DVR.
Ah. But theft is a part of any business. Any business is going to have some type of a walkoff account in their GL books.
I didn't mean that Bungie doesn't deserve to be paid for what they created or that it should not be posted on the internet. What I was saying is that theft is an unfortunate cost of doing business.
People shoplift at Wal-Mart every day, Walmart knows about it. They put measures in place to try to prevent it, but it still happens. They ultimately pass that cost on to the consumer as increases to the prices that you and I pay on our stuff.
There's no doubt in my mind that Microsoft has people tracking down whoever was responsible for this. I hope whoever it was thought that leaking the game was worth his job, I hear the Microsoft legal team employ some very effective ninja.
Ninjas? Was this written by an 8 year old?
When will companies realize that piracy is just an unfortunate part of doing business. Did they honestly think it wasn't going to be posted up on the internet? I've talked to a variety of friends and strangers. Those that are familar with Halo and Halo 2 all said that they knew of the leak, but they were still going to buy it when it comes out in a few weeks. Those that steal it now...probably wouldn't have bought it anyways.
I'm sure PJ will be more then happy to post commentary for every 'article' prosco posts and open it for discussion. Just because SCO doesn't host the forum doesn't mean they won't exist.
Take the case of football again. Almost everyone, would like to be in control of the player who is dribbling the ball.
I would much happier being in charge of passing/rushing/running/kicking the football as I would be if I were dribbling the football. Footballs don't bounce very cleanly.:)
Nope. You can submarine them for years, springing them anytime to claim your fortune. Patents and copyrights don't have to be actively defended, trademarks do.
Does IBM sit on it's patents for 12 years, long enough to allow the technology to become commonly used in many different everyday devices, then spring the "Oh by the way" lawsuits on the infringers? Seriously, I don't know and I'm just courious.
All the US Geological Service people or whoever monitors all this stuff is going to pack up soon, leaving behind one middle age man who wants to go out with the town mayor. Pretty soon they are going to start drinking sulfer water, find naked skinny dippers floating in boiling water, and ultimately drive a truck into an abandoned mine shaft that will amazingly suffer no damage other then a colapsed mine shaft from the volcanic explosion. Thanks to NASA and their radio signal that has absolutely no problem penetrating solid rock, everyone will be fine with the exception of our hero's right arm snapped in two.
It moves, just in very tiny pieces. In 1980 larger pieces moved up to 300 miles. Within 3 days, ash got to the east coast. But I know what you meant anyways.
You think? I would have thought that the phrase "Scientists from the RAND Corporation have created this model" in the caption would have indicated it was real.
Start them out at a basic level assemby Teach them the basics and everything from there is a cinch. Sure the learing curve is pretty tough, but the ones who really aren't committed will get weeded out in the process.
Most of the childes asked, believed that what they found on the internet is true, 100% fact, and they had no training in spotting what's not facts or how to check the sources.
I don't beleive you. You posted your information on the net with no type of source or corroborating evidence to back up your claim. So then obviously what you are saying is false and everything I find on the internet really is 100% true...but if that is the case, then your statement really is true, thus not everything is true....ahhh...circular logic.
It's kind of like the "This sentence is false" line...
SCO is fighting on 2 different battlefronts. They have the court room battles that, as of so far, they seem to be losing. Then, in the court of public opinion, they are losing severly.
They know that even if it is proven that IBM did something wrong and pays for it, their business is finished with. No one will do business with them at that point.
So they want to get all this incriminating evidence out to the public now so that they can use it as ammo in the court of public opinion.
Not quite. Last quarter SCO had $678,000 in SCOSource revenue ($709,000 YTD), finally putting on the books the EV1 deal as well as several others. Legal costs last quarter alone was $7.3m.
Much of the money paid so far came from cash reserves as well as the Baystar/RBC dealings.
Leave his family, if there is one, out of it. Blast him in is professional role all you want. Call him evil, say he's a moron, say whatever you want about him...but leave those who have no other connection to the lawsuit other then a family relation out of it.
It makes yourself look like an ass and brings no credibility to the anti-SCO supporters.
And to the child post below, the same relies to religion as well.
I had never seen a reference to tubgirl. I figured it was as similiarly disgusting as what the goatse guy is...but after a very brief google search I beleive tubgirl far surpasses anything goatse could have dreamed of.

Turn your mod chip off and yes. Keep it on and be banned.

Others would disagree.
Orange Barrels?

I think he means the latter...or in other words, it tries to equally offend everyone.

It seems to be working for a little island in upper Ohio that is for all intents and purposes closed close to 1/2 of the year.
Um hello. Haven't you ever seen Dante's Peak?

Shortly after Doom 3...oh wait. I can't use that one anymore.

As of the last SEC filings, the paperwork in the deal to cap legal fees had not been signed.

So you mean all this karma that I've been accumulating here means nothing?
