    This is the same state that is allowing illegal immigrants get driver's license. So they would rather kill businesses that would actually bring money to the state than depart the leeches that come here illegally and pay 0 in taxes. (And don't tell me that they pay ther fair share in taxes since that the majority of these bozos get paid under-the-table. Meaning they pay zip.)

    I'm 36 and I still use a dictionary and go to the library when I need to research something. The only information I use the Internet exclusively while searching is for the news, product reviews, and what new games are coming out.

    What I wanna know is how the fuck Marin manages to sign up Fortune 500 companies on a repeated basis. (Well, I also wanna know how he stays out of jail, but that's another story.) Two particular reasons why this works..

    1.) Rule #1: Spammer's lie. (Marin is a champion at that.)

    2.) The marketing departments at these corporations are becoming lazy and do NOT do their homework regarding advertising online. So their ignorance is reflected by their cluelessness.

    Besides, I heard that the Big-3 is losing marketshare again. That may be telling us something.

    Actually, you don't need to put the rules in to the router. Just add the rules to the mailserver by using a service like Spamhaus or Spamcop to either tag or dev/null coming in. (For guys like Marin who leases out complete /24s, one does not have to worry too much about false positives.)

    Baloney! It is likely that they told Marin to change the domain name before Markley sues and WCG loses their big bonus blood money.

    Rule #1! Williams Communications Group is notorious for continuously providing bandwidth to spammers with dirty /24s. Then they feign this concern by "shinning" on those who complain about their dubious customers. Why don't someone ask them about Wholesalebandwidth.com/Optigate?

    I wouldn't put off the possibility of any Voyager-type missions in the future. It would of been practical if the Voyager spacecraft was outfitted with ion drives, but the technology simply wasn't there at the time.

    The 15 month travel time isn't too appealing. But with the cheap cost and simpler propulsion system, the trade-off is acceptable.

    The nifty thing is that ion drives is possible with practical applications for planetary exploration.

    ..like an OS on a chip. So that we won't have to worry about viruses or other errant screware trying to destroy the functionality of PCs.

    If you want a new or different OS, plug in a new chip.

    This is indeed only the beginning. People all over the globe are becoming sick of paying big bucks for buggy OSes. (Particularly the kind of OS that forces reboots for program crashes.)

    Microsoft better get their act together if they intend on staying competitive. Linux is slowly eroding their market share.

    That having been said, I know a lot of UCE originates from China, but with a population that's about one fifth of theirs and a GDP per capita more than eight freaking times of theirs, which country do you think is employing its resources least adequately?

    Remember when Japan's NTT bought up Verio? Guess what Verio does now to stem the flow of spam... listwashing.

    I don't see Singapore improving much of anything. In fact I see it getting worse, a la "pink contracts".

    This litigation might work since Popular Enterprises still has to *buy* the expired domain first. With Verisign doing this for free they get a big leg-up on it. Either way I hope Verisign loses for this blatant RFC violation. This is fast becoming as something more than an annoyance.

    The only practical way on dealing with spammers is to jail them harshly. They don't take court orders seriously and most of these guys were felons to begin with. (See history of Alan Ralksy and Tommy Cowles shown on Spamhaus.)

    Gee, during the early days of PCs (before the Internet became commercialized and BBSes was the only game in town), the PC retailers put actual storage capacity in the fine print. But over the years, this was removed.. guess they thought that it was easier to just "round up". Unfortunately, it appears that even though drive capacity increases, so does more of the unusuable space too because of specific drive geometries.

    True, the site does say to use it for flagging purposes. (Then let the user decide.) Only thing is that what do the SPEWS users use in the meantime? My real mail provider uses the bl.spamcop.net to filter out spam. So far, haven't had a problem with false positives.

    What makes me concerned is that the scientists are realizing that the press is wrapping it all up in sensationalism now. (i.e. "Scientists say this is the 'Big One'", etc.) What if they do find something of a concern and begin to second guess themselves about whether to say something.

    Granted that the probability of getting hit by a large asteroid is more or less remote, but I'd like to know which of these things are under a closer "watch".
