Any business that directly portrays themselves as the company that can make money without doing evil should be expected to do just that.
They have insinuated, in their own right, a 'holier-than-thou' attitude themselves, now their ignorance of doing the right thing in China is contradicting and insulting.

basically, I think google knew everything they know now about China and the lameness of dealing with a communist government. They've already planted their 'seed' there and i dont think they'll be pulling out of China anytime soon.

This google fanboism is making me sick (not directed to you). Everyone seems to love to call google the 'do no evil' company. I almost think that was a specific marketing ploy by google just to get people to not piss all over their actions. "If google is doing it then it MUST be okay, right?"

Google is capable of some great things, but they ARE a corporation and have to abide by the almighty dollar in the end.

What exactly are we waiting for? Those of us who have read the book already know the story, why will we now subject ourselves to a condensed 2 hour version of mere pictures and sounds with no substance(and pay some $8+ as well)?
Movies are becoming the true tool of wasted-time and money, and most people blindly march to this weekend ritual as if their entire state-of-mind depended on the fulfillment of a few hours of a 'movie fix'.

Seriously folks, whats the point of us sitting unproductively for 2 hours at a time while we make some guy (Lucus, Speilberg, etc.) rich and fat?
I just don't get it anymore. Someone please explain it to me, because its no longer about art (as if it ever was), and all about convincing us that we should give up our money to be supremely satisfied in our social lives.

Also, it doesn't show that you can work in a full-time environment with real development processes and not the ragtag un-organized development that most OSS projects face.
If you can't show that you can work 9-5 for 40+ hours a week (through internships or other experiences) then you'll get passed up for someone who can.
