That is definitely harmful to toilet paper publications like the ones Rupert Murdoch owns.
I was waiting for that - Stop all progress because someone somewhere needs something. Maybe you should stop shitting and flushing because someone in the world needs some water
This gets insightful? Anyone with half a brain knows that it is more sustainable to produce food crops than to raise animals on the same land. You may have other criticisms of PETA, but implying that not eating animals will increase hunger while basic common sense indicates the opposite has to be the most retarded thought process.
Oh btw.. the animal protein that helped humans evolve was termites.
Vegetarians are not a monolithic entity and there are plenty of us who have been rasied vegetarian (you'll find a lot of them in India..) who find the meat substitute stuff puke inducing because it reminds us of real meat.
I call BS on the 800 year thing - Tibet has been invaded off and on periodically by China and both China and Tibet have been under the Mogol Empire as well. By your logic, Mongolia should be occupying all of China because both China and Tibet were part of the Mongol empire for a while.
Irrespective of any of that, the fact is it was an independent country for 50 years, They wanted to remain independent. If your logic is used, the entire world map will be redrawn with countries claiming something belonged to them 100 years ago, and something belonged to them 800 years ago. China Invaded Tibet and is commiting ethnic cleansing though immigration. That is a fact. The only reason China wants to control Tibet is so that it can control the strategic highlands that are a source to most of the water supply to South Asia. Everything else is pure BS to feed to their population that has been raised on this kind of nationalism that they will never ever accept or realise the truth.
China's claim to Tibet is about as legitimate as Italy claiming all of Europe now because the Roman Empire used to exist. Please read some real history and not the ChiCom propoganda that a lot of people have been raised on.
These helicopter parents whining about homework need to take their kids and shove them up their ass. It looks like they never wanted to release their kids anyway....
It's not like sony isn't going to have some form of DRM...
To protect high definition contents from unauthorised duplication, HD-DVD chose the successor of CSS called AACS (Advanced Access Control System), while Blu-ray invented a proprietary algorithm called BD-CPS (although Blu-ray might decide in the end to use AACS too). Quite interestingly, both technologies are very similar, proprietary ciphers and algorithms from CSS have been abandoned for state-of-the-art key exchange, symmetric/asymmetric encryption and hashing algorithms (AES, T-DES,...).
Islam might since their creation myths are the same as the christians, but eastern religions generally don't have any dogma of their own and often have multiple creation myths existing side by side. Evolution is generally not a controversial topic at all among eastern non-judeo christian religions.
Fighter aircraft often require computer control because they have unstable aerodynamics.. The control surfaces have to be constantly moved by the computer to keep the plane stable, and flying straight. This is done to allow the plane to maneuver fast and violently.
This wouldn't be the case in planes such as the A380 which can fly without constant adjustments to the control surfaces.
Even 32-bit Windows (at least the enterprise editions) can address up to 36-bits of physical memory using PAE.. not 32-bits, providing far more than 4GB.
Linux did it on a few older chipsets. Not sure if they've done it on laptops but they probably don't have all the power management features, all the laptop hotkey features (since they're not standard interfaces), that the vendor BIOS would provide. Also, if you have a brand new laptop, the chipset documentation probably isn't available publicly to write your own BIOS anyway.
Lets assume two objects are spaceship A and spaceship B. To make things simple, lets assume the speed of light is 100 m/s and both the spaceships are travelling at 60 m/s towards each other (relative to a person at rest). But, since they are travelling at high speeds, adding up 60+60 to get 120 doesn't work because spaceship A won't measure the speed of spaceship B to be 60m/s because they are in a different inertial frame compared to the person at rest and will make different measurements.
Relativistic equations have to be used in this case to determine what the observer in spaceship A will measure.
The equation used is v = v0*sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)
So spaceship A will measure the speed of spaceship B to be 60*sqrt(1-v^2/c^2) = 60*sqrt(1-60^2/100^2) = 60*0.8 = 48m/s
So that means relative to spaceship A, spaceship B will be travelling at 60 + 48 = 98 m/s.. still less than the speed of light.
Actually, the book is even better and helps you understand relativity, time, etc even better. The program is great, but slightly less intense on detail
If the moon is close to the planets, the planets are unlikely to show up because the moon is way brighter. Your best bet is to take one picture exposed for the moon, one exposed for the planets and then merge them in photoshop
Chipset and processor vendors such as Intel are not going to make a lot of processor and chipset documentation public domain. You will have to sign an NDA to get access to it early. I don't see that being conducive to Open Source BIOS anytime in the near future. For now, Open Source BIOS is going to happen only for old chipsets. If you want the latest and greatest, You'll have to rely on Phoenix, Dell, AMI, HP or other BIOSes.
Mars Attacks, 500 other crappy sci-fi movies, etc can all pass off for remakes of war of the worlds. Just because something was cool in 1938 doesn't mean remaking it is a good idea. It'll just be another weird movie with weird looking aliens shooting at everything with weird looking weapons.

String theory does handle what happened before the big bang. Two branes collided in the 11th dimension causing a big bang.

To state the obvious, there were people in America before Europeans
oops.. I should have done 48+48 = 96 since both objects are at reletivistic speeds. Sorry about that.
