    The price should not be a concern. if they get halved every year (is that too much to expect?) i'd be having a 8 GB Flash card in my 30MP digital SLR camera for $150 after 5 years.

    35 millions lines of code are accumulated from a collection of codes frmo different projects. Not one BIG project.

    Some researchers in Carnegie Mellon are working on the implications of having a postage on emails. So far that has seemed to be the most effective of all techniques I have come across. The idea is the ISPs charge a postage to the sender and receiver has the option to waive it. Simple isn't it? Some ISP in S.Korea has implemented it and it's working well.

    CDs are going to be obsolete before they can settle the law suit. The patent is on CD writing methods, right? Atleast that's what the title says. DVDs should be safe.

    me on gentoo-dev-sources-2.6test11 too and KDE latest CVS build (from iamalarryboy) is pretty snappy.

    I do agree with both of you. Whats the use of a few more free MBs in RAM or disk anyways. Good thing is KDE team is offering lots of features and applications and all of those are high quality products. One principle I adhere to .. when the quality of the product is good, then bigger the better. They put my RAM, disk and CPU to GOOD use.

    Proprietary software tends to drive focus where the money is. OSS tends to drive focus where the work is interesting.

    Software which are making money might be interesting at least for some developers to clone.

    Gentoo and Slackware definaetly don't expect anyone but a power user to even touch there distros. Gentoo expects newbies and turns them into power users in a short period.

    I thought I was innocent until proven guilty. The bzImage that I have can come from the present source or from a source wihtout all SCO's copyrighted comments and with a different set of variable names. So, it might as well have come from such a source. Is there something establishing a relation between this binary and the source that SCO is claiming to be containing its proprietary comments?
