    All it seems to me that .NET is just on big VM. What I found funny is that they kept on refering to it is like JVM but did not say it supports java. It did mention JScript but that is it.

    No we will not run out of "fossil fuels" because fossil fuels may not have came from fossils.
    Read the wired article about it. But I do agree we should find an alternative soon so we do not have to be dependent on only that type of fuels.

    They are not only patenting "technology" but basic business processes. Amazon hold a patent or is trying get it patented on affilation. (Correct me if I am wrong) Basicly if you link my site and someone orders from that link then you get some money. This was used for years in the real business world it is called referals. Is this really novel no but since they have some good techinical writers they can get things like this patented. This harms small businesses who could not afford to pay the fees.

    What I would believe to happen for the big iron machines is that they would have a different directory for them and the memory management code will be under there. So now you have the memory management for big guys and the other memory management code under the same source tree. When you compile your kernel it looks for the proper managemnt code. I know not that simple there is more to it than that but is what will happen if they fork and come back together.
