All it seems to me that.NET is just on big VM. What I found funny is that they kept on refering to it is like JVM but did not say it supports java. It did mention JScript but that is it.
I think gamers would love this. Reason being alot of them are looking for the next "new thing". I think think this is it. Give it about 3 years when it mature you will see this at your local gameroom.

(Correct me if I am wrong) Basicly if you link my site and someone orders from that link then you get some money. This was used for years in the real business world it is called referals. Is this really novel no but since they have some good techinical writers they can get things like this patented. This harms small businesses who could not afford to pay the fees.

This is what I love about Unix,Linux,BSD is that you have the of how you want things to look and if you do not like how it looks you can change it easier that if you want to change windows or mac. Choices is what is going to keep unix around for a long time.
What I would believe to happen for the big iron machines is that they would have a different directory for them and the memory management code will be under there. So now you have the memory management for big guys and the other memory management code under the same source tree. When you compile your kernel it looks for the proper managemnt code. I know not that simple there is more to it than that but is what will happen if they fork and come back together.
All they really are is one big colocation site/ISP. They just happen to have line from all the major backbone providers. There service is great those heavy hits site that want to make sure the they get the best connection possible.
If they fork all it would cause is a temporary fork. It will be incorporated back into the kernel any how if it is any good. If it is not good people will not use it. If they want to fork let them.
The problem is that microsoft did to things wrong. They worded thier ad to strong also they
They did not give people the choice to change it if they wanted to.
If Microsoft wins or loses it will realy change things? What should be with Microsoft was already well put by RMS. Require them to have all thier API well documented and made public or a reasonable cost. They can not use patents for market dominace.If I find the link I will post up here.
This the way server need to be secure when you install it. I hope that more linux distros start doing this also. When will they start incorperating RSA in thier distros.
