    Linux distros need to start making changes to there default install to a secure install. So people if people wants to use a service they have to turn on themselves.

    Name based hosting will work for most cases. There is about less than 2 percent (if that many) of people that would have a problem viewing name based hosted sites. Ftp that would cause a problem. Quite a few people like the fact they could have an anonymous ftp server. This a why they should start impletementing IPV6 now so everyone could start making the long transion. It might take six years for IPV6 to be fully acceptable after it is implemted. Just my thoughts

    Windows, Linux, and MacOS are tools to do a job. The thing about linux (in theory) it is easier to create a new layer to it.
    You can so the same for Windows and Mac but it cost money and time. For linux it cost only time.
    This is why linux will be a leader on the desktop in the next few years first as a corpoate desktop.
    Next on the consumor desktop. I say give it 5 years linux will run most every major software out there.

    Is about stucture and order you have one way to do something and only one way

    Gnome
    It is about choices you use GTK,Gnome,Bonobo, perl,scheme,tcl,python...

    Both have its advantages

    Yes OSS is great but when something goes wrong you need someone thier to hold your hand. If you do not know what you are doing or you do not have time to take care of it. If companies could come up with a resonable cost for Quality service for non-profits I say go for it.
