It always helps if you spell the groups name correct, I did a search on the discussion for gutenberg, and yours didn't come up since it was spelled gutenburg
Interestingly, the link you gave is spelled correctly, however, the search didn't search the url text apparently.
I can't believe more people don't know about Project Gutenberg..
or at least more people didn't mention it... you
can get a torrent of their 'best of' DVD they've released full of ebooks.
I'm not sure if you're referring to the canadian court decision stating that the levy put on blank CDR's doesn't (currently) cover memory card and hard-drive based mp3 players... if you are, I don't suggest getting too happy about it, it will only be a matter of time before the law/levy rules are amended to (re)include memory card and hard drive based mp3 players... as several posters point out, "for the rich, by the rich"... it only takes money to change/make laws.
You could detect different frequencies, therefore ruling out the frequency the RC is running on. You can run on AM, or FM frequencies that could also be a differentiator.
True enough, and it still stinks they put a 25/per day limit on the free accounts (plus advertising signup), but its still nice to use for things that need a permanent email address, not one that you expect to get alot of email at.
Not to mention the ability to make a copy of all 10,000 images in 10 minutes, and $0.50 for the blank DVD... for that matter, make 10 copies and email them to other family members for "remote" storage.
I disagree... I went through those pages, and didn't see it coming in "as you are implying"... "dead last"... I was going to mod yours as flamebait after checking up on it, but decided a response would be more useful I think. I then had to undo some other mod points i did earlier on the discussion, in order to post this reply. :
In this case, its a premium service, not a "buy in bulk, and get it cheaper"... that would be buying a gbit pipe.
Small businesses will lap it up at those prices. T1's are several hundred more in most markets, for 1.55/1.55mbit.
Currently, if you buy an AMD Athlon XP 2400/2500/2600 Mobile processor, (the 2400's and 2500's are best bang for buck), these are the same processor as the regular Athlon XP processor, except, they've gone through and tested for the ones that will run at their rated speed, with the least voltage. They leave the clock multiplier unlocked (for speed changes so as to save battery in a mobile machine).
Take the lower voltage requirement, and the clock multiplier together, and you have yourself a highly overclockable Athlon CPU. Average simple overclocks, even without voltage bumps, move the processor to 2400mhz (3200+ PR rating). Add an enthusaist cooling system, bump the voltage, and you can reach higher of course.
If you do a google search, you'll find quite a few hacks for different burners... some 4x burners upgrade to 8x (liteon), some hacks allow burners to burn at their maximum speed on cheaper media that was only rated for 1x or 2x speed, region locks removed on some, etc.
Actually, when Intel switched to the Slot 1 design, AMD had no choice but to design their own slot, since Intel purposely denyed licensing by other processor companies (unlike the socket 370, which was licensed to cyrix (joshua cpu's) and via (C3 cpu's). The AMD Slot A's were very short lived, from 12-18 months, offering up 500mhz to 1000mhz models, near the end of which, they started offering the new PGA Socket A processors.
The blame for the slot/socket fiasco lays solely on Intel in this case.
Virtual PC 7 (for G5's) was supposed to be out already, but has has been pushed back to the 2nd half of 2004, which also caused the delay of one edition of Office 2004 for Mac.
You can also subscribe to microsoft's mactopia newsletter (at the bottom of the page) to be informed of the release of VPC 7 for Mac.
Here's the working URL... the %20 (space) in the address didn't work, removing it and replacing it with a plain space in the address bar also didn't work, removing the extra "space" all together did work however.
And if this isn't wierd enough, using the preview, the click through works, but yet even slashdot re-parses the displayed text and if you highlight the text, it has the space in it again... a bug somewhere?
FWIW, Beta 2 was released today.
I don't consider it a bad thing, if the only "good" thing that comes of VMWare's offering causes Microsoft to release its server as free also.

All I can say, is that you should try it. I can't wait for them to start adding more features, and updating it to work on more than your C: drive.

I would suggest downloading a nimo codec pack.. usually the "lite" version is sufficient. nimo codec downloads
