  1. Good for them on First Exotic Space Thruster Test Ends in Explosion · · Score: 5, Insightful

I'm actually glad to see NASA doing stuff that might not work. It seems that a lot of the space work thats been happening in the last decade or two has been stuff that we know we can do. There are still failures, but those tend to be metric vs imperial units issues, not because they're pushing forward in to new areas.

All new technology generates it's share of failures along the way. In the early days NASA blew up a lot of rockets in the process of learning to get them in to space. As long as we're using it on unmanned craft (or on the bench), a decent rate of failures is alright by me if they're learning something from them.

All of the stock spam I get is for companies that don't trade on the NYSE or NASDAQ, it's for much, much, much smaller companies that trade on other exchanges. The companies that make up the Dow Jones average (30 of them) are way too heavily traded to be swayed by pump and dump spam, so they don't bother.

Except for the exceptions....I get just about zero calls trying to sell me something, but a couple of calls a week asking me for donations (usually clothing), from groups I've never donated to. Often they ask for "Mrs. $myLastName", which is interesting since there isn't now, nor has there ever been, a "Mrs. $myLastName" at my phone number.

Thanks for coming out with a show (and a cookbook) that finally tell me why I should cook in a certain way rather than just telling me that I should do it.

Many of your recipes tend to be a high in fat (for example, deep fried mac and cheese). How often do you eat food like that? Do you worry you'll die of a heart attack by age 45?

Thanks for the shows, I really enjoy them.

Amen. I find it amazing that ESRI didn't learn its lesson from AML. They seem to have the attitude that extension languages should only allow you to perform large scale operations that they provide, but they give you no way to write your own.

On the off chance that anyone who works for ESRI is reading: Please give your users a decent language or give them a decent API to run against.
