Let me guess... people have to subscribe from the beginning, and so, pay a monthly fee, even while working on the single player part. That way they get bonus money without actually having to pay for hosting of the MMORPG until characters have gotten far enough along. Nice way to save money.
I have many friends who will alternate... one night computer games til morning, the next homework, the next sleep, then repeat. Classes and such come somewhere in there, but are bonus sleep times.
I thought more students in this Computer age would know more about their computers. Maybe it is just because I work with them, and most of my friends do too. Maybe it has something to do with some college students of today not caring what is said or done until it starts to affect them personally. i.e. There is a patch to fix a security bug, but I am not going to apply it because I am not having any computer problems due to it.
Doesn't this seem like a bit of an invasion of privacy?
Also, this would seem to be sort of stumbling block for new teachers. New teachers are probably already nervous enough without knowing there is a camera watching them.
"It also would have to either offer a version of Windows without the Media Player, or agree to carry rival players with Windows."
I really hope they don't decide to include rival players, I dislike Realplayer's junk, and do not want any of it included in my OS (Yes sadly enough I do use Windows primarily).
There are always voting problems. You can fairly easily falsify paper ballots too with $100 worth of equipment. It is even easier in those areas (like Oregon) where all voting is done through the mail. Although there is no excuse to allow known bugs to stick around, there most likely will always be bugs/flaws in whatever method you use for voting.
The game that has always succeeded in keeping me coming back is Demise. I will play it for a while, then move on to new games, but always return.

Empire or Civilization 1 were genre defining games for turn based strategy. Civilization had descent graphics for its time and endless playtime.
I wonder how much it costs to read Slashdot in Saudi Arabia...

In Physics news, Slashdot effect takes another site. On to other topics...
http://www.michaelscomputers.com/ Domain has been suspended. I wonder why? (sarcasm)

Use against terrorism: Set up enough of the tubes and you can detect when a hydrogen bomb goes off there (assuming they survive).
