disc formats are dead for the new generation (or should be). Flash drives make more sense in every area.
Hence Microsoft's Games on Demand idea. Just download games from the cloud to your device. Problem with that is that a lot of the titles made available this way are year-old re-issues. Hardly anything's fresh. Ick!
Go to the UK if if you want to do that. Blockbuster seems to be alive and quite well across the pond. At least that's what the enormous amount of Blockbuster ads I hear on radio over there (over the intertubes) lead me to believe.
Really?? Bluetooth keyboards suck! Asus got the tablet and keyboard thing right with its eeePod Transformer. Not only is the keyboard docked to the tablet, but it also serves as an alternate battery and has full sized USB ports on it that the tablet can make use of. The keyboard gives you the option of using the tablet as a netbook of sorts.
This reminds me of a special mobile phone made just for kids. It was called Firefly and it was sold primarily at Target stores during the early 2000s. Parents could program the phones with whatever numbers they wanted their kids to have access to. This was done via a web interface. This interface was locked via password. 911 was pre-programmed into the phones.
Yeah, but the trick is that you would have to get such equipment down to a size equal that of today's mobile phones. No police force or fire department wants to bother with big, heavy kit just for sake of blasting out text messages.
Starz might switch to another CDN such as XBox or Roku, or maybe both (like Hulu is doing now). Epix, the subscription movie channel currently available through Roku, would most certainly leave and then make itself available via cable TV (it actually is however, just not widely available).
Well, corporate was just stupid for allowing who ever it was to bring this iPod into a bar this time around after what happened earlier. Now with Tim Cook at the helm, who knows what's gonna' happen next.
So Apple's now having their art department make fake prototype devices and leave them around in bars on purpose. They don't all have to work perfectly, the amazingly cool features can be simulations, the battery life doesn't have to be as long as they'd like, the parts can be more expensive than the real manufactured product, the cases can be entirely different shapes, the phone number in the speed-dial list is for Fake Steve Jobs, and in general you'll see stuff that's at best quirky and interesting, but won't find out anything about the real products. And if those Android folks get one, it's going to take them forever to reverse engineer the product or application because it's fake.
Don't you mean advertising department? I'm sure every gadget maker would just love to have a department like that. Crazy, but it just might work for other gadget makers in addition to Apple.
Yes, this is backwards technology, but quite popular with regional cable TV operators. One such that I know of is Insight Communications. This one covers Kentucky, southern Indiana and Southwest Ohio. Some other cable operators might still be doing this also but I don't know of any.
Go to some EU countries, or even third world and you'll see the exact opposite. That's why nokia is still the king of phones across third world - it's phones are actually honest to god cheap rather then "costs you an arm and a leg, but will cut them off slowly over 2 years as you pay its actual price".
Yeah but Nokia's the king of phones for the wrong reason. Their phones are still running the Symbian OS and Windows Phone 7 won't be appearing on them for quite some time. Nokia's phones are pretty much dead in the water, technologically speaking.
Now that Google owns Motorola, you'll most certainly see Android apps that do that kind of thing bundled into Motorola converter boxes. Nielsen and/or Google are probably working on such an app right now. It'll even be able to track what you watch on your tablet.
I'm sure you'll see the webOS GUI remastered for motor vehicles and appliances. You might even see it in the next internet-enabled TV, Who would put it in one is the question. Sharp, Panasonic maybe? A couple of brands not known for their internet functionality. Maybe Nintendo will use webOS as the operating system in Wii U. Just sayin'.
You don't understand. This looks like Direct2Drive getting out of the PC game download biz to make room for Steam and Origin, both of who really excel in that stuff anyway IMHO. Direct2Drive looks to have lost that battle and now they want to try something else and this is it.
Why not allow both and let the userbase sort out who they do and do not add on their professional (cathedral) and personal (bazaar) accounts? Because frankly, we already have a cathedral (LinkedIn) and a Bazaar (Facebook), so if Google wants to attract those users, they better be flexible enough to accommodate them.
Exactly! If Google thinks they can compete with Facebook and LinkedIn at the same time, they're nuts! They should focus on the Bazaar model and compete with Facebook like they originally intended to,
Another wireless technology for the mobile telcos to play with. How long do y'all think before they offer it to us, and would it supplant WiMax or not? Could we be talking 5G here?
If it is a scam, what exactly are they promising and not delivering? I'm paying for a service, and they are providing it. When I stop paying for it, they stop providing it. I fail to see the scam.
Well, one thing they haven't delivered yet is a Roku app. Therefore, if I want to listen to Spotify content on my home stereo I have to do so via my Squeezebox Radio with an FM transmitter jacked into it, YUK!!!!
I know Nickelodeon is trying to educate kids with their programming but this little bit of trivia is not going to impress kids one iota. Just try to use the species name in an episode of this show and watch its ratings go down the toilet.

Yep. Sounds like they're next in line for a bailout from Uncle Sam. Fox News has to be loving this.

WebOS? That operating system wasn't really intended for mobile PCs IMHO. It's for appliances, home entertainment systems, electronic toys, etc.

Such late 90's M$ tech that is. Makes no sense having that on XBox.

Wow. I bet both users were not only outraged, but they were even more infuriated to learn that geocities was gone too
Yep! It definitely looks as if Google has taken over this space with its Google Sites website. Angelfire and its brethren are pretty much gone too.

...and given that, I'm sure NASA would love to collaborate on this project, manned spaceflight overwith for the time being.

Pardon my ignorance, but aren't Rdio and Mog that way too?

Google Wave 2.0
An Apple fanboi, sounds like anyway. Probably got paid by Steve Jobs to talk that way about other tablet makers too. Geez!!
