I acknowledge that the continued support of Windows by software developers must be a major reason that Windows continues to exist and be the major consumer operating system.
The only reason that I continue to use Windows is because of games. If all games ran fine on Linux, then I'd switch over completely and never look back.
The technology evolves over time. In 20 years C++, Java, and.NET likely won't be cutting edge anymore (we hope now). So those skills don't work to well... you need to retrain anyway.
The business degree will still be good in 20 years.
This just shows that you truly don't understand what a Computer SCIENCE degree consists of. CS is a mathematics degree, not a "technical" degree or a "trade" degree. A CS degree is supposed to teach you theory and concepts that WILL last. The languages that are you taught are just tools to help you learn those concepts. It just so happens that those languages are what is used in the real world. It's kind of like the calculator versus the slide rule for the older engineers. An engineering degree from the 60s or 70s is basically the same (or very similar) now but with new tools, just like a CS degree 20 years from now but with new languages. There is a reason it is called Computer SCIENCE. Everyone seems to have forgotten that.
As far as your business degree goes, good for you. I'm glad you are doing what you want to do but to to call CS "dead end" is just totally ignorant on your part. My company is a 130,000 person, $30b plus a year company and I can tell you that everyone of our executives have engineering degrees. Very few have business degrees and if they do, they are MBA's. The opinion at my school was always that MIS kids were the CS dropouts and that attitude bleeds into the work environment as well.
Why don't they require at least one pilot to have a mask on at all times? Seems like this would solve the problem of them knowing whether it is working or not before they even take off. I'm guessing that cost is a big factor in this because they'd have to get constant refills.
With just about every company patenting crazy things these days, it's no wonder that this happens. It's like an evil cycle. Once one started it, they all felt like they had to just to protect themselves and now it has just spiraled out of control. Seems like the only place this can be fixed is at the patent office because companies obviously aren't going to behave.
If you look at the bottom of the page, it is owned by American Online. I'm pretty sure they have full access to the AIM database =)
This "news" post seems very much like an advertisement to me.
They changed the Terms of Service today. Perhaps it was because of this post?? Perhaps commenting on Slashdot goes further than we think?? It's funny cause I posted a bulletin about it on myspace and they deleted it. I'm surprised they can read all of them...It now says:

Just a side note here, the weather in Spain, Gambia and Morocco has to be good just like in FL in case they have to do the TAL method. I believe the launch just before the disaster two years ago had to be delayed because weather was bad in Spain. That was the first I had heard of that and wondered what Spain had to do with anything and they said it is because they land there in case of an emergency.
It's pretty easy to never have a problem from magazine companies...just sign up for magazines under a different name than your own...I did it all the time at college. If they don't know your real name, then they can't fraudulently bill you.
Wait Im confused about this "IMBlaze". Why would I want to download a chat program that is going to display ads in my chat window when I can use other "free" ones that don't?
I've been looking at senior software developer positions, but is that too high up the ladder for someone 'fresh' to cope with?
People starting at my company (defense contractor) with a MSCS start at software engineer level 2. One step above those without the masters. Basically the 2 year masters is the same as 2 years of work. Forget trying to be a senior level.
$2500 doesn't seem to be a very harsh punishment for my personal data being compromised when the FCC can fine companies $11000 per do not call violation.
I just noticed he included "touch typing" on his list...wtf?

Too many Hollywood movies these days, they say, just are not good enough.
Now if only the RIAA would realize this about music...

Good luck...

No Thanks! Anyone have a different format?

Apparently it helps the article's server go to sleep as well =)
How do you find out if your name/info was used?

i'm still doing comp-sci like tasks for work (web design)
uhhhh hate to break it to you but web design is not computer science.
Thank you for pointing this out. I can't stand it when someone says I work in IT.
But do the Macs "speed-step" like Pentium Ms?

the publisher probably wouldn't allow it. I don't think lessig's books are released under CC...or are they?

the PS3 display at E3 was pretty disappointing...
but except for that very little is known about how it's applied to a real use.
And why are video games not considered to be "real use" ??

Um no, we knew they had nukes, they just didn't admit it until a little while ago.
