If I had to generalize cops, I would say it was more of the opposite.. that people with self esteem issues through high school would be more likely to pursue a career in law enforcement. Deserved or not, cops typically command more respect than your average Joe walking down the street.

Ever stop to think that cops become jaded very quickly because people automatically assume they are ass hats and treat them rudely because they were doing their job? Who's fault is it that you got pulled over for speeding? In today's society, since no one likes to take the blame for their own mistakes, it must be the bully cop.

Even if these individuals are no longer getting paid by the RIAA, they either had to believe in the RIAA arguments or lie through their teeth while in court. Either way it doesn't look good for them as a person. Sure they bullied some people into paying a settlement and won a few cases here and there.. but do you want bullies running the Justice Department in a time we're worried about our rights being eroded?

One former RIAA lawyer.. fine. FIVE?!?! There's a conflict of interest somewhere.

Until I saw this article I really hadn't given it much thought... but subtle changes they've made to WoW seem to have limited gold farming/selling in the game.

As we know, the best gear typically drops in instances or is gathered through pvp achievements, not stuff you can simply buy (unless you buy the whole account). The newest expansion only has 1 or 2 rep turn ins, whereas in the past just about every faction had a collectable (and tradeable) item that could be turned in for rep. Also, gold is easy to come by on it's own, daily quests can be completely rather quickly in most cases, and grind materials appear to drop in greater abundance.

The end result is the game has been made easier, but it's also taken away much of the alure gold famers may have had. Sure there are still some, there will always be a market.. but to be honest if you can only spend 30 minutes a day playing, it's still enough time to make around 100g.

4e is the first time I played D&D (other than some brief extent 16 years ago when I didn't know what was going on). My first and only character so far is a healing Cleric, about to hit lvl 4. One thing I do not like is how easy it is (and maybe this changes a bit as my character progresses) to miss on encounter and daily powers. Sure, sometimes there's an effect that still helps out a little bit.. but when the group is counting on me to keep them up and my encounter power fails and has no effect... that sort of sucks. Plus there really isn't much in terms of healing spells except the Healing Word which every Cleric receives.

Anyway, back on the subject of PDFs. Why not make the PDFs free? I have a couple of them, while they are good quality PDFs it's not nearly as easy as flipping through the actual book to look something up. I think they'd find a good portion of gamers would still buy the book. Maybe they should focus on the continued creation of encounters and make most of their money through that. Possibly develop some official software that makes a touch screen, table top game viable.

Before my friends and I aged, with most getting married and having a kid or two by now, we use to LAN about once a month. At first we'd have a few cases of Mt. Dew in order to stay up all night... but I'd start getting headaches around 3 or 4am which I usually attributed to being tired.

Then once I decided to just drink water all night. I was able to game til 7am and still feel pretty good. While I have no actual evidence, I think my headaches and drowsiness were caused more by becoming dehydrated than by being tired. What I learned that is I should go with water first if I'm feeling fatigued. I still enjoy a coke once or twice a week, along with a couple cups a tea once or twice a week.. but drinking 80-100oz of water a day normally keeps me feeling good and alert.

But even drinking that little, and that infrequently.. if I have a soda 2 or 3 mornings in a row it gets harder and harder to not get one the next morning. For me, the best way to not ingest caffeine is to keep no money in my pockets, that keeps me from buying stuff out of the vending machines :). I also only keep teas at home. Earl Grey and Green tea if it's early enough in the day, Chamamille if I want some before bed (it's caffeine free).
