Not to mention the "accounting" for movies is always shady. I'm sure they never cost as much as they claim or they make more money off the movie then they're willing to admit. Either way barring a huge disaster, just about everything they put out makes them some sort of profit.
Why can't you do both? Graduate and then find a job. Once you've got the job, go back for your Master's degree. If you're with a larger corporation they often have tuition assistance programs (which require you to stay with the company for 2-3 years after getting your degree otherwise you have to pay back the money). You may not have much of a social life, but you're getting real world experience at the same time as furthering your education.
And if you want to get your Master's, don't wait long to do it. The longer you wait, the harder it is to go back.
I don't know what all the fuss is about, makes perfect sense to me!:)
After reading what I wrote a second time, I'd agree it's not the best post. The problem was I wrote something, then I switched to a work email before coming back to finish the post. I do that often...
Reminds me of the (somewhat) local story I read this morning. A man shop lifted a bunch of clothes from a department store, on is way out he stopped at the front desk to fill out a job application. Sure enough he listed his real information. When the cops showed up he was busy putting away all the stuff he had just walked out with.
He beeped on his way through the door but still was allowed to leave (those things beep so often most employees probably ignore them now). If he didn't give them his personal information, he probably would've gotten away with it.
It puts food on the table, right? Consider yourself lucky if you have never held a job that you didn't like, but kept to pay the bills.
I don't code, but I've seen stories on/. about the difficulties in finding jobs in the US. A job is money and experience (be it good or bad experience).
What's wrong with leaving it with ICANN but sending a few reps from around the world to work there? The EU just wants to have as much control as they can get.
Slightly related... anyone else ever wonder why international basketball and ice hockey rules differ from the rules of the NBA and NHL even though the sports were pretty much invented in N. America? The rules for Olympic play match the rules of the European leagues.
Freshman year of high school my English teacher was crazy. My mom would always ask how school was, and I'd tell her my English teacher was wacko. Of course my mom dismissed it because most kids that age will have issues with teachers. It wasn't until the end of the school year that my mom started to believe me... my mom worked for the court of common pleas judge and there was a trial going on involving my English teacher. Apparently the teacher was too emoitionally unstable to take the stand, but she was still able to teach to 9th graders. Needless to say my mom started believing me a bit more after that happened:).
I really don't understand why bad teachers can't be fired. In my area there's no shortage of teachers. The public schools are decent and the pay starts out a bit on the low side but they can max out at a decent wage (starting at 35k and making up to 50k with experience)... Does the teacher's union hold a lot of power? Seems like baring some serious neglect you never have to worry about your job.
I remember when I was between the ages of 6 and 10 I use to draw battles with tanks, jets, and stickmen. I had people falling into volcanoes, getting blown in two by bombs, getting hit by "tracer" round gunfire, etc. Guess what, I'm still pretty normal. I don't have the urge to blow anyone up or shoot anyone.
While I agree it's a bit odd to have the twin towers getting hit by airplanes in a coloring book, I wouldn't have a problem with my kids coloring the picture.
Yeah, I know what you mean about untagging photos.... I had to rush to untag a few from last Halloween. On a whim I put on an Obama mask to go along with my friend who put on a McCain mask. It's funny because I won $50 for "scariest costume".... We even sang "Proud to be an American" with someone dressed as Bin Laden. Then I borrowed the 10" dildo my friend had (he was John Bobbit) and put it in my pants and was walking around the bar as Obama with a big schlong sticking out of my pants... those pictures I really don't want associated with my name... Especially with family members on facebook as well.
Those cables were also installed by someone specificially hired to do that job.
I know my way around a car and could probably replace the brakes without too much hassle but that doesn't mean I'm going to do it as well or as efficiently as someone who does it all the time.
No new administration wants to cross that line in the sand and have people from the previous administration charged with crimes. If Obama allows Bush officials to do jail time, then he's going to open himself and his staff to charges once the next administration comes to power. Every President has their dirty little secrets.
While this might be true at least he is no longer allowed to use his status as a lawyer to harass people. And further more any lawyer that would act on his behalf risks equal punishment. In fact, if any lawyers are out there that want to work with him and use illegal and unethical acts to support cases based upon false accusations, unsubstantiated research and anecdotal evidence; then by all means I hope they all join hands and march into disbarment under his banner.
Hmm, where have I heard this scenario before? Oh yeah, from a few of the lawyers recently appointed to the DoJ.
I would probably use a new high-speed rail system occasionally if it was built. The problem I see is that major US cities are typically not very close to each other (with exception to the NE coastal area, California and Texas). In those areas I could see rail networks being very sucessful. For just about everywhere else it seems as if it would be a struggle. Anywhere else isn't going to get the business traffic needed to be profitable.
Is anyone surprised Britain is ok with it? They've apparently been desensitized.
Well the GP has a point. Stop artifically funneling water into the desert and suddenly no one will want to live there any more.
Arizona is like Los Angeles, no one is a native, everyone is a transplant.
You've never heard of Square Enix? Why are you even reading an article about games?

Hmm, getting paid for 15 years to produce nothing of value (as far as we can tell)... sounds like job security to me!

While I agree those are very prestigious schools, how is it relevant? Those schools predate the recent "omg socialism" trend.
1 or 2 commercial mowers are probably a lighter load than a herd of goats.

I said "pretty normal" which I meant as mostly, but not completely normal.

I wonder if the emphasis was intended...

I'd say $.10/GB is pretty good for a newer technology. Just a decade ago weren't we still paying roughly $.02/MB?

The hardcore gamer group is basically the 18-24 male group... not the biggest segment out there.
Hardcore gaming isn't declining, it's just that casual gaming has really taken off.

Not yet... :)
