I'd assume if the balloon popped the parachute system would kick in. The same system that guided it back to solid ground once they cut the balloon loose.
Most of what I listened to in Brazil was American music on the radio... other than the night we spent at a Samba school... after that I didn't listen to much of anything for about a day because I couldn't hear anything:).
We were down at the big street market in Sao Paulo and I saw 4 or 5 people selling pirated movies. The cops don't really do anything in Brazil from what I've seen.. every once in awhile they'd drive by.. probably just to play a joke on the street vendor by making him grab his blanket on the ground with all the movies and run around the corner.
But that was about the time I left because a crazy drunk older women started throwing empty bottles at people and cars...
I was in Sao Paulo about a month ago for 1 week.. while I saw plenty of street vendors selling movies, not once did I see anyone selling music.... Now I don't speak Portuguese (other than a few greetings and a few curse words) but they were trying to unload these things on me.. 5 movies for 1 Real. I can't imagine that even would cover the cost of the blank DVD... so not only were they pirated, I assumed they were also stolen.
And for the love of God.. at least pirate GOOD movies...:) I don't want to buy Titanic.. it sucked when I saw it in the theatre, it probably still sucks.
I take my iPod on flights all the time. I have taken water on the flight as well, I just had to purchase it after the security checkpoint. You're not suppose to be able to take a lighter.
I'm not sure what list you're looking at... are those the rules in Europe?
Are you joking? What are they suppose to do, knock politely on the front door and ask "Excuse me, do you have drugs and guns and a gunshot victim inside? No? Sorry for waking you."
When drugs and guns are potentially involved, the police don't screw around.
And it's not like they just go knocking on random doors looking for trouble. They were dispatched to a certain location because of a call that seemed to originate from that address. That, my friend, is probable cause to enter the home.
I hope the kid that made the call spends some time in jail.
Why should anyone take you seriously when the point of your post was to bash conservatives. You're lucky you got anyone to mod you insightful.. probably more for calling Bush an asshat than any "point" you made.
Gore fudged numbers and lied in his documentary. I don't think it's really helped out much. Sure the buzzword now is "green".. but honestly.. are the things we call environmentally friendly now all that friendly? Maybe the end product is, the the production processes aren't.
The only reason I would disagree with you is because the REAL things can do it just fine. Flying insects seem to handle slight breezes without much effort. If the development is there, I don't see any reason why controlling a lifelike bug would be that difficult.
I've been to CP probably around 50 times in my life (my grandfather was a software engineer there back in the 80s).. and I never rode the Demon Drop until this summer. I'm not scared of roller coasters... the only reason to go to CP is to ride the best ones in the world. I was amazed at how much of a thrill that ride actually gives for as "small" as it looks compared to the new mega coasters.
And if CmdrTaco happens to read this.. I think we need a/. day at the park.. If it doesn't sound nerdy enough, we can talk about the forces exerted on each ride:).
Apple isn't in the position to dictate formatting for games. I'm not an expert on game design or programming, but it seems to me there is something about Macs that make porting games them not worth the effort to most companies. Sure Blizzard releases their games for both platforms, they have the money and staff to do so. Some of the smaller companies probably can't support two staffs to create the game for PC and for Mac.
Game companies are going to continue to develop for PC because that is where the majority of gamers are. Apple needs to make changes if they want to lure the gamers. It doesn't matter that 1 company releases their games for both platforms at the same time.. because for that 1 company there are 99 others who don't.
The ball is in Apple's court. They make it easier to port games to their system or they will never be a serious player for gaming machines.
It's not about porting a game to Macs.. it's about Apple doing a few things that would make porting games much easier. It seems quite simple, if Apple wants to greatly increase market share, they will make their systems more gamer friendly.
One way to combat something like this is to prove it's a big waste of money. If it is ever implemented there needs to be a coordinated effort to put thousands of people around the city doing "suspicious" but legal behavior. There will be so many reports that the authorities will soon realize there's no feasible way of keeping the system running.
Is this some sort of really bad joke? Having to prove your gender via web cam sounds like a solution created by a 10 year old. I could get my sister to stand behind the web cam to get past their "check".
This wouldn't be an issue if so many idiots didn't sexually harass anyone playing a female character in any MMORPG. In my opinion, this new rule will only make things worse. For example, in WoW there are a ton of female characters running around. Everyone knows the WoW playing population isn't 40% female, so it probably helps keep harassment to a minimum because in the back of your head to tell yourself there's a good chance the player is actually a guy. But in a game where you have to verify your gender visually? I see it driving away a good number of females.
While I understand your point, anything moving that slow will wind up just a few miles from the origin if you fly west with sunlight and east in the dark.
WoW benefited from releasing at the perfect time. I think the bastardization of SWG by SOE along with no other big name companies releasing any MMORPGs at the time allowed WoW to gain such a huge market share.
Don't get me wrong, I think WoW is a very good game.. it just hasn't really had to deal with any serious competition recently. Once Warhammer and Age of Conan come out, I think WoW will be relegated to #3.
The writer is clueless. I work for American Honda... we don't toot our own horn like Toyota does because we're not aiming to be the biggest auto manufacturer in the world. Honda is more concerning about helping out our local communities then running a "look at us" campaign on TV. Of course we advertise.. after all.. we are in the business of selling autos, m/cs, power equipment, business jets (coming soon!).
To say Honda missed a golden opportunity to cash in on the eco-buzz.. clearly this guy doesn't actually know much about the automotive industry. Ask people to describe a Honda, and they will most likely tell you Hondas are reliable, efficient vehicles.. So by walking the walk instead of talking the talk, Honda has already accomplished what this moron is saying only Toyota took advantage of.
And by the way, all Hondas are certified in all 50 states.
Someone probably has the phrase "Automatic 4WD" trademarked. Also, you want something that sounds unique to your brand. Just like multiple companies provide all wheel drive on their vehicle, but it's always called something different. Honda calls it SH-AWD (Super Handling - All Wheel Drive).. and I know it's different for BMW and Volvo.
I take it your degree wasn't in marketing (or business in general).
I live in Ohio and coincidentally I've had an incident with Circuit City as well (although I have a friend in Mississippi who was hassled by Circuit City.. must be corporate policy). Anyway, they tried to stop me on my way out. I told them to fuck off unless they had proof I stole something. Don't think they were ready for that response because they just stood there. I drove off and never heard about it again.
My friend is MS stopped and let them search his stuff. When they realized he didn't take anything, he demanded a $50 gift certificate for the embarrassment they caused... he didn't get that but they gave him a free NIC (back when they still cost $40/each).
Moral of the story, Circuit City treats customers poorly.
At the very least they could've started with A "Awesome Aardvark" (or something) and continued through the alphabet so that v8.x would turn into Hard Heron.
But that would make too much sense to me that wants to try Ubuntu but has never gotten around to it. (I'll probably format my old PC and do it over winter shutdown)
I'd assume if the balloon popped the parachute system would kick in. The same system that guided it back to solid ground once they cut the balloon loose.
Isn't it interesting that fiber seems to make EVERYTHING flow faster...

I read the article title as "Steve Jobs Announces iPhones Suck"
Not really on topic.. but..
I was in Brazil last month.. the coca cola down there is sooooo much better. And caparinas are yummy!

Replace 'Google' with 'government' and you'd be crying 'foul.'
While I understand your point, anything moving that slow will wind up just a few miles from the origin if you fly west with sunlight and east in the dark.
Anyone else end up with a headache while trying to independantly prove or disprove the findings of the study?
I need to go home now.

I think everyone outside of the actual marketing department hates them.
