  1. Mystery on Canadian Inventor: Pyramids Were Rocked Into Place · · Score: 2, Interesting

The only mystery i see is how many people did they have working on these pyramids? I have read up and people have calculated that a rock needed to be placed every 2 or so minutes. While this might seem impossible but maybe there were say 10 groups of people moving an individual rock into place at the same time. so say it took 20 minutes to move the rock into place, if you have 10 groups doing that at the same pace then it could seem doable. Also since the pyramids were so huge perhaps they had 100 groups of workers moving individual rocks. That means if it took 200 minutes to put a rock in place, with 100 groups it would still be doable. The way i first pictured it was having one group moving one rock at a time every 2 minutes, but if you split it up into more than one groups then it gets more feasable.

  2. ET on Tomb Raider Game Blamed for Movie's Poor Ticket Sales · · Score: 1

Its funny that when a movie sucked they blame anything they can except for themselves. I bet when the game ET for nintendo sucked they didnt blame the movie, because the game simply sucked. If the movie simply sucked then why blame the game. (imo making movies from games is a bad idea, and most (not all, i love goldeneye and a few others) games from movies suck anyways because they are just selling the mainstream name, just like what they dried to do with the movie. They appealed to the mainstream Tombraider gamers which is not a way to attract people to see the movie. They should make the movie and accept how it did. Nobody sits back and wonders why Johnny Mneumonic wasnt a smash hit, the movie sucked. (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0113481)

  3. Sun Guided on Hyperion Rover, 1 km On One Command · · Score: 0, Troll

If it were guided by the sun then if it landed on a certain portion of a planet or moon then it would go in circles because think of earth. The sun rises on one side and sets on the other, day after day it would go back and forth and not cover much ground. I do understand that it can be switched on and off but it just seems a little odd to me how that can be used for directional purposes.

But it also gives more room to avoid collisions,, instead of just left and right (2d), you theoretically have 358 more options (directions) of turning when avoiding the troubles.

The problem is the gravity field because if your flying car breaks down, you have a chance of falling to death, which is a bummer.

  8. Future Advances on Peer To Peer Meets Manufacturing · · Score: 2, Interesting

Is it just me or are more companies actually trying to create everything that was in the Sci-fi movies back in the day. Perhaps in my lifetime I could say "beam me up scotty" and actually go somewhere else in an instant.
But who am i kidding.. We all were told we would have flying cars in the year 2000 right?

great, instead of fighting for the remote we will be fighting the other people in the room until they shutup and done say anything.

  10. CS Project Warmup: For COllege Purposes on Programming Warm Ups? · · Score: 1

When a CS project is due this tends to be my warmup.

When the project first comes out I look at it and determine how long it will take me. Then that night i drink precisly 2 Old English 40's (no more, no less) and determine how long it will take to do while drunk. Then i turn on some Techno and attempt to start coding. Once i forget the name of the file i close it and go play q3 or starcraft (starcraft has to be the best drunk game ever). This continues for a few more days while i have all of the files created but nothing is in them. The day it is due I wait till the last possible minute and turn on some techno and get it done 1 minute before its due.

All of this hard work can guarantee a C in the class (i got a 105% on the final which helped) and i never have to take a p[rogramming class ever again.(my major is NOT CS, i would kill myself because i hate programming)

  12. Refill Buttons on Another Beer Please · · Score: 3, Interesting

Instead of having a sensor on/in the glass to determine if its going empty or not,, why not make a high tech table that has a spot or a button to place the drink when you want a refill so they know instead of rushing one to you when you finish. This would give the consumer the option to get a drink instead of having one after another till they are blitzed because some consumers (along with me) have the "if I buy it then I might as well drink it" mentality.

I am sure that this approach would be more cost effective then buying 200 of these glasses at $100 a pop.

their company was based on them gaining experience from creating q3f. Ive been playing the game since its came out and know how they are from this. They are good at what they do and expect them o bring great things to doom3. My bitterness towards them is my opinion butsince it was their first endevour i can put aside my differences.

My current experience with these guys leads me to believe they are the reason Doom3 has been delayed I play their mod Q3F (quake3 fortress) and they only update their site every 7 months or so and it takes them about a year or two to come out with a patch. They make maps that are pretty but suck for gameplay and have bad fps i hope they are getting wiser i havent played ET since i have 56k at home but i just hoped they had learned something
