I can't imagine what more resources and technology we will put in SETI or anything similar in the next 26 years, but call me an optimist, I beilieve something amzaning will come out of it sooner or later. And once that happend, even if it was short signals of a few seconds or milli second, our lives and the lives of the children will change in away that has never before. Imagine the social, religious imapct this will have...I really cant put some sort of clever summy here at 3AM but, but if that day ever comes it will justify all costs put in to it, justify the work of all the women and men that where part of the effor and I will sleep under a different mind set and so will all of humanity that night....

Great trailer, I must check out the movie this weekend.

One thing that caught my attention in the trailer is one of the buildings at the begining of the trailer looks like an exact match to the Emirates Towers in Dubai.

  6. Familiar on 30Gigs Web Mail Launches Into Beta · · Score: 0

Things are looking similar to the way the net was in the late 90s. We have seen the rise of some services that have no way of recovering the initial investment, let alone generate profit in the future. All the heat might be less, the build up is still very apparant and it will only be a matter of time until we witness another bubble burst.

These games just look awesom, I cant believe I haven't heard of them before. I wasted so much time playing Elite in my youth and still think it is one of the greatest games ever. I loved the idea of endless flying/trading/pirating in a huge universe with endless possibilities, all that on a 64k commodore. Amazing times!! If these games are anything as good as the screenshots, I think my free time will be used up for the next few months. Anyone have played these gems yet?

Great to see that some eGov initiatives are heading towards Linux. There is some talk at the Dubai e-Gov to move the portal from sun based OS and Hardware to an Intel/Linux setup. As for desktop, MS is the dominant OS and I dont see that changing in the near future
