    The Russians were stupid to use polonium-210. Its so rare and hard to get, it proves a government did it.

    You need massive resources like a ton of uranium and a nuclear proccesing plant to get 100 micrograms of polonium. It also has a half-life of 138 days so you don't have too long to use it either.

    I guess they were completely banking on the fact that no-one would think of looking for it in a post-mortem. Now the Brits found it, the Russians are completely in the sh1t.

    For anything to make power out of heat it has to be in a heat gradient. Its the temperature differential that makes it work, not just its absolute temperature. I can't see how a small chip could possibly experience a sufficient temperature gradient to be effective.

    Heat one end to 600 degrees, you'll only generate power until the other end becomes 600 degrees too, which would be pretty quick.

    You think bush isn't bringing religion into politics? The problem with the US culture is that its so smothered in religion that many US citizens don't actually see how much is there.
    In Georgia, about 1/4 of all tv channels I could get were (rich) supposedly Christian crackpots blatantly conning people into sendng in money.

    Its very worrying that even banks don't seem to understand the very basics about security, especially after other financial companies have already experienced the same kinds of security breaches. Don't they ever read the news? or learn for others mistakes?

    The reason he's dissing it..is because he's a Microsoft lackey, and the laptop project uses Linux.
    The last thing Microsoft want is a whole generation/country of people who learn and associate linux with desktop computing. Its all about mindshare. Most Americans don't even realise Windows is an OS and not just an integral part of the computer. Thats what Microsoft want the rest of the world to think too.

    As a bass player who's played in many rock bands this just confirms what I've found.. many lead guitar players get away with having bad or even no sense of rhythm/time.

    so lets weigh up the 2 worst cases:
    If GW is happening and we don't act: Unreversible world devastation.

    If GW isn't happening and we do act: The Gov. are out tax dollars cleaning up the air you breathe anyway even though it wasn't strictly necessary to avert armageddon.
