Yeah, but one sneeze and it'll all come crashing (fluttering?) down.

My biggest complaint about XP Explorer:
Are you sure you want to delete all these files? YES

This is a program file, are you sure you want to delete it? YES

This is a system file, are you sure you want to delete it? Grrr, YES!

This is a locked file, are you sure you want to delete it? Cripes, YES already!

It's lunch time, are you sure you want to continue deleting files? Arrrghh!!! For the love of all things holy, DELETE EVERYTHING DAMN IT!!!!!
The web site claims that the company is located in Boudler, not Boulder. While Boudler does show up in a Google search, we're not sure there's an actualy city by that name or if it's a simple misspelling.
Because "Hubble Space Telescope Detects Ring of Dark Matter" sounds way more interesting as a headline than "One or two scientists think that some data from the Hubble Space Telescope may potentially indicate signs of what we might consider to be proof of the existence of Dark Matter, which has previously only been theorized to exist, although it's too early to be absolutely, positively certain".
Spleen: Well, it all started when I was just 13 years of age. One day, while walking with some friends, I accidentally cut the cheese. Well, in my adolescent awkwardness, I blamed it on an old gypsy woman who happened to be passing by. BIG MISTAKE! The gypsy woman placed a curse upon my head. Because I smelled it, she decreed I would forevermore BE HE WHO DEALT IT!
If you have a Palm (especially one with the larger high-resolution screen like the Tungsten T3 or TX), there's the GPL software Power48 http://www.mobilevoodoo.com/power48.htm. You choose the calculator emulation of a 48SX, 48GX, or 49G. Choosing to emulate either of the 48 models gets you the large ENTER key that RPN purists seem to prefer. Unfortunately soft keys are just no substitute for those honest-to-goodness hard buttons.
Just a satisfied user, in no way affiliated with Power48.
At twice the bitrate, the songs use twice the bandwidth when downloaded, so Apple even has slightly higher real costs on the new downloads, although I doubt that the incremental increase in cost is as high as 30 cents per song...
Plus songs take up twice the space so people might be willing to pony up a few dollars more for the next-higher capacity iPod.
Back in the early days of Everquest, there was a point in North Karana (one of the widest zones in the original game) where you could walk between two trees into the water at one end of the zone, fall below the world, and be teleported to the "Safe Spot" all the way on the other side of the zone near Qeynos. Saved a lot of time if you were heading towards Qeynos. Sadly it was eventually "fixed".
I agree this sometimes works, but be sure to seal the drive in a plastic bag to prevent condensation build-up (which could damage the drive further) and of course freezer burn (which will make it taste funny).
What I don't understand is why the rest of the Time Lords didn't, um, transmigrate (ie. when they change to a new actor playing Dr. Who) when they were killed unlike the current Doctor. It seems like the current Dr. Who gets killed every season but his fellow Time Lords just disappeared never to return.
What kills me is that you could have a console login and a Terminal Services login simultaneously in Windows 2000 Server, but they cut it down to only one login (console or TS) in Windows 2003 Server.
Some of the newer Dell models (GX520, possibly others) are using Intel's new motherboard layout with one absolutely gigantic case fan cooling the whole system at low RPM's. They're remarkably quiet.
I did some research on this and almost went the Mac Mini route. Then I read that they don't offer digital audio out, so you'd be stuck without surround sound support for playing DVD's. Since I wanted my HTPC to replace my DVD player, it wasn't really an option for me.
Considering how much heat a P4 generates, I'm curious as to why the majority of SSF PC's insist on using Intel motherboards and processors. You'd think that an Athlon64 system would generate much less heat and thus generate much less noise. Or am I just wrong in assuming that these are intended to be used as home theatre PC's?
I'm doing my part, are you?
On NPR this morning, they had another stanza, which I think were something like: When you cry and you beg As the eel bites your leg That's a moray
Is "tech condotterie" anything like Slashdotterie?

There are three types of people in the world: 1. Those who can count 2. Those who can't

It wouldn't be so bad if searching for product reviews came up with more than estores with the text "Be the first to review this product!"

I think you're confusing life with The Fifth Element.

What, so you can run these on your Mac?
How about the UN?
OMG, you've slashdotted Wikipedia!

It'd be cheaper to just buy more RAM for your system. The whole point of swap is to cover for when you don't have enough RAM.

Isn't there a "Too much informative" mod?
