.. because, leaving aside all the RIAA's bullshit for a minute, I've had a couple of people in my store who thought they could legally download music. Most people just go.. 'yeah, everyone does it..' - but these people bought Kazaa or Audiogalaxy or something for thirty quid and thought that gave them the right down to download music for free. They seemed genuinely surprised when I explained it.
.. with the low hanging fruit disappearing, we should be wary of giraffe hackers. So if you see someone with an exceptionally long neckbeard, you should inform your local police.
.. but just think about how many people happily forward links to all their friends? Who then happily click on the links. Granted, your average Slashdot reader might be too IT literate to fall for this, but Joe Public certainly isn't.
.. or at least they did a couple of weeks ago, when Yahtzee did a none too flattering review of Age of Conan. All the while, there was Gamespot style background on the site, promoting.... Age of Conan! Still, he's not been sacked yet, so it looks like folks at The Escapist are a notch above the scumfucks at Gamespot.

Over the space of about six months, they've been requiring people to take PayPal if they had less than 100 feedback, and then if they listed in certain categories. Now they've expanded that to nearly all categories, so that if you want to list anything on E-Bay, you have to take PayPal. By that time I'd already started using Amazon, but that was the final nail in the coffin.
.. a hell of a lot of Chinese people seem to have no idea about the crap their government pulls. You can gripe all you want about the US government, but at least the country has some semblance of free speech.
