Thank you! People love to use that as their first arguement... "well, I've never heard of it before".
So freakin' what?!? The internet is a big place. I'm sure there are exponentially more sites in existence, than I've visited. This doesn't, by itself, make them irrelevant.
"Microsoft will purchase 24,642,681 shares of Class A Special Common Stock (CMCSK) for $500 million at $20.29 per share and $500 million of a new issue of Comcast Series B Convertible Preferred Stock. The Comcast Series B Convertible Preferred Stock will have a 5.25 percent pay-in-kind dividend and will be initially convertible into 21,243,691 shares, which equals an initial conversion price of $23.54 per share. The number of shares into which the issue can be converted will not increase due to the pay-in-kind dividend as the conversion price increases proportionately to the amount of accrued dividends. The issue will have a final maturity of 20 years, but may be redeemed at Microsoft's option or called by Comcast after seven years. The investment is expected to close this month."
Quite frankly, they are still under that agreement to have their films distributed by Disney. Talks ended about extending the agreement, or creating a new agreement. Until "The Incredibles" and the Summer 2005 movies have been finished, Pixar is legally bound by the original agreement.
I was at a Christmas Party and having a dull time. Then I found the game room and the couples' kid was playing Battlefield 1942. He set me up and it was okay. I was on one of the Pacific Theatre maps, and I come upon an artillery emplacement overlooking the beaches. I asked him if it was decoration, and he said no, it was usable. So I climbed into it and started aiming and firing at the landing craft below. The kid is telling me how it's not much fun because you can't kill anyone with artillery. It's too difficult to hit anything, etc.... just then I get the range of this piece and... *boom*... I nailed one of the landing craft and scored three kills.
The kid couldn't believe it, and I was having the time of my life. By the time the allies figured out where the "raining death" was coming from, and offed me with a bomb from one of their airplanes, I had killed about 24 players before they ever had a chance to hit the beach. The kid gained a new found respect for artillery.
For instance, if you launch a grenade into a room and your idiot team mates all run in and die you lose honor and can't play the better maps.
Maybe you shouldn't be launching a grenade into a room your "idiot" teammates are planning to overrun. I've played AA, and it shows you where your teammates are, plus you have squad-only communication. Sounds like you're not a team-player.
Pixar owes two movies. They've already released "Toy Story", "A Bug's Life", "Monsters Inc.", and "Finding Nemo".
How long has it been since the last three Pixar films? How long do you think it would take Disney to setup a Pixar knock-off?
Pixar is releasing "The Incredibles" this summer, and will be out of the deal when they release their final movie for Summer 2005. I believe Disney will have a Pixar knock-off by then, but it'll be just that... a knock-off. Disney's primary problem hasn't been their animation. Their primary problem has been their story-telling. Their movies have become rote.
after the Challenger explosion it became obvious that we would never refuel a rocket with volatile fuel at a space station because the threat to the station would be so great.
Oh? I thought that became obvious after this thought-proving documentary covered the same issue. It even tied in the Russians.
He was not fired over that incident. We contacted his company's security officer and reported the incident. They took disciplinary action.
My point was, if the other person was fired on the spot, he probably had other incidents. You can't just fire someone without building a paper trail to backup the company's actions.
Truly? It's been years?
Hmm ... iTunes Music Store opened on Monday, April 28, 2003. Today is Thursday, March 4, 2004.
Are you sure you're using the same calendar as the rest of us?
How does what users hoped for, equate to vaporware? Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall Apple ever saying they'd release a $100 iPod.
Sounds somewhat like Ford's ... "you can have any color ... as long as it's Black".
"You can have more secure software ... as long as it's XP."
No ... MS just doesn't care.
I imagine the unit price would drop as the number of units sold increased, so long as Average Cost remains less than Price.
Also thinking out loud ... could they be positioning themselves for new debt. Debt incurred from acquiring, or merging with, another company?
I'd never have the temerity to post what you posted, but I definitely have thought what you posted.
True ... it was point number zero.

Granted ... but maybe using M$ will get me modded "Funny".
Here's the pertinent information ...

Don't worry, Microsoft knows what they are doing. Comcast just goes with the pull of the strings from Redmond.

So Disney has announced a DRM-licensing deal with Microsoft, and now M$-Comcast has made a public offer for Disney.
Hmm ...
He originally wanted to make crap?!?!
I never thought I'd thank the '70s for anything ... but thank you, '70s, for holding back Mr. Lucas!
Damn the '90s!!!

Yeah, I like this game a whole lot!

Yes, we're more effective than MyDoom.B!
Good points ... my assumption would be if anyone is in a position to defend the NeXT trademark, it would be Apple.
Especially if they go with ... NeXTbox
