I upgraded my laptop last night, and I'm getting the old psmouse.c: PS/2 mouse at serio0 lost synchronization, throwing 2 bytes away which is annoying as hell. Mouse goes nuts and clicks on stuff I don't want to click on (no, please don't log me off now). I'm turning off more and more stuff, but no solution yet. Bleh.
US currency has fluorescent dots and foil features, along with metal strips embedded in the notes (which I would imagine is a hell of a lot better at foiling the casual counterfeiter than changing the print colours).

The response from TdR shouldn't be "it's just a crash." It should be, "Man, we screwed up! It will be fixed right away. Good thing there seems to be no way to execute code."
It was fixed before you even heard about it. Get over yourself.
What, you don't like that it's a military base guarding stuff with a ten-foot-thick steel door, but they use teleportation and magic words to really enhance the security?
export myconf="--enable-final --disable-debug --enable-fast-malloc=full" && emerge kde
takes 6 hours for a full emerge on an XP 2000+, half a gig of good RAM. And look into distcc. It doesn't work too well with KDE, but it certainly speeds everything else up. Everybody whines about how Gentoo sucks because you have to compile everything, but that doesn't matter too much when you have a 6.4 GHz processor.
Same with the military - People just don't put forth the effort required to make breakthroughs like this without some greater need (national protection or God).
The 50-million-dollar-an-hour budget doesn't have anything to do with it, right?

Well, that's stupid. How can we slashdot it when it's not even up yet? *sigh* I'll just keep clicking reload until it's up and I can't connect, I guess. At least we'll be able to smash it when the dupe story comes along tomorrow.

How about a dollar into the pot for Assassination Politics?
NB, one change on UK currency in recent years is a copyright notice. That stops people claiming "I didnt know" when they get prosecuted.
Seriously? "I didn't know" what, that it's illegal to print your own money?
Can I pay for it with cash?
Allowing people to produce counterfeit currency is unethical. Period.
So is allowing them to print pictures of child pornography, no? How about pictures of people being tortured? Or fake passports? Or the Coca-Cola logo?
They have since been FORCED (perhaps by capitalism) to donate a lot of money to helping conserve the environment.
Wonderful. It'd be nice if they'd pay for the cleanup costs for Valdez. But who's gonna force them to do that, the President?

Without the need for national protection, the military's budget wouldn't exist.
Do you really believe that? Or would you care to insert perceived just before need, maybe?

I can't tell if parent was modded funny because of the
SCO is now the first link on a Google search for litigious bastards.
or the
Taco probably isn't going to post 2 SCO stories in a row.
Either way...
"Stupider" is most definately a word.
"Definately," however, is not.
And for how many years does fogcreek get to continue describing themselves as a "startup"?
Until they're a dot-bomb, naturally.
I hate to tell you, but that's not chocolate cake dripping down your face...
SCO buys 3D Realms... Duke Nukem Forever coming out Real Soon Now.
It reminds me of the Starbucks thing against the little coffee shop in the Queen Charlotte Islands.
That'd be HaidaBucks, for those who don't know. And they won, BTW.

Of course they are. Where do you think they get their money?
