  2. Re:Is it worth it? on Interceptor Missile Fails Test Launch · · Score: 1

Why do all Bush backers have to invoke Bill Clinton to justify what GW has or hasn't done? I though the point of GW's Presidency was he was going to bring "respect" and "honor" back to the White House. What Clinton did is irrelevant to any issue involving GW. His presidency should stand on it's own.

Don't forget that this was a project begun during the Reagan administration. It has continued development through GHWB and Clinton. It has failed every test were there wasn't a homing beacon or GPS attached to the rocket being shot down. I'm sure our enemies are going to put a homing beacon and GPS on their ICBMs. GWB knew of these failures and decided to spend money on them anyway.

The first cable systems were not commercial free. They were created to provide television to people who lived in valleys and mountainous regions were there was no TV reception. There was also cable radio back in the day as well.

  11. MTV and Radio on Music Downloading not Entirely to Blame · · Score: 3, Funny

I believe the major reason for lackluster sales of CDs is that MTV doesn't play videos anymore and radio is payola, playing the same crap over and over. I think a lot of music buyers have also been alienated by the rise of hip-hop.

That's a sucker's argument. You can't prove a negative. I can say that there are such things as purple unicorns. You can say prove it. I say just because no one has ever seen one doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Until you search every inch of the earth you can't say with 100% certainty that they don't exist. Several parts of the bible have been shown to be inaccurate but people still take is as 100% true.

Excercising your rights does not mean you can violate someone elses. Punishing someone who has differing views is un-american. The proper way to to go about it is to say you have a different opinion and explain why. We should aspire to what Voltaire said about not agreeing with someone but defending their right to say it. You do not defend someone's right to state their opinion by organizing a boycott against them. That's the problem we have now. If someone dissents they are treated like pariahs. The Founding Fathers must be spinning in their graves.
