    When the federal government decided to raise taxes to such levels as to squeeze state tax revenue to virtually nothing, they assumed financial responsibility for everything that they deprived the states of money to do What needs to be done is to cut federal taxes in half and raise state taxes to make up the difference, and let the states pay for their own highways, schools, health care, etc.

    Nobody's "burning water" - There are processes which consume water - electrolytic separation, photosynthesis, etc. Flushing a toilet is not one of them. Many other processes [combustion, for one] in fact create water - For hydrocarbons, at a slightly greater rate than they create carbon dioxide. [one more H2O than CO2 per molecule combusted]

    The semicolon operator "don't start doing this thing until this other thing is completely done" has no place in logic, either. Programming languages aren't based on formal logic, and our brains _do_ work that way. And so do CPUs.

    Oddly enough, For a long time, there was something on mac classic that had a "little button protruding out of the corner" - the control strip, which later evolved into the menubar applets you get at the top right of the screen in OSX

    And it's really worth 2 million? Besides, even if she did, the damage is done and this will not be effective in "undoing" it. the right thing to do would be to make a press release refuting the claims. This will be seen as an attempt to sweep things under the rug. Even if the website comes down, Everyone Knows[tm] that's only because she couldn't afford to fight The Good Fight[tm] against The Evil Corporation[tm].

    Maybe if they did she would admit such mistakes. Now even if she _was_ lying she'll never admit it, and everyone's already seen the site - even if it turns out she was lying, no-one will believe that, because Everyone Knows (TM) it got taken down because of the big evil corporation.

    Just because we so far have been able to rationalize phenomena with facts and statistics, that is not to say at some point we will be at a loss to explain something without supernatural explaination. After all, it is rather odd that such comlex results could come fom natural selection. Things happenening at random to create life, and then sentinence is kind of Odd.

    That's why it took three and a half billion years.

    Yes, I said "billion".

    With a "b".

    As in "billion".

    I don't have a link but this was mentioned in a comment to an earlier slashdot post - He basically suggested that they couldn't touch him and if they tried he'd get a judgement against him for something or other, comparing this with some other charge he'd gotten out of some time in the past.
