  1. Re:Shameless sig whoring on US Nuclear Power Industry Poised For a Comeback · · Score: 1

The problem most environmentalists have isn't with nuclear power in theory. It is nuclear power in practice. They are expensive, dangerous, with long term problems to resolve. Can we do it right? Of course! Do we need to? Most likely. Do I trust a large institution that only cares about short term profits to solve these problems and not just sweep them under the rug? No. That's the problem, how can we expect for-profit entities to solve expensive long-term problems truthfully when its cheap and easy to ignore them.

This seems to me more like a run up to 10.6. AV seems like a feature that apple would love to ad to show off to windows. I can just see the Mac/PC ad where Mac is telling us how 10.6 will automatically scan for viruses for you, out of the box.

I think the chance of the feds censoring the internet is 0%. Why? The democratic party has too many powerful people against it, it isn't realistic that they could come up with a plan, and most importantly too many companies and political groups have a vested interest in no internet censorship.

According to wiki, that's a feature to remotely process your GPS location, at a more powerful assistance server, than to do it locally at your not so powerful cell phone. That way, your phone can supply it's location to E911 systems faster. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GPS) No doubt there are mechanisms to remotely enable GPS tracking, but I doubt that there is anything an end user can do to disable it.

It has already been rumored that apple was going to make a large acquisition. I think this would be a useful move for apple, allowing for a presence in the PVR and Media Center markets without creating a new product, or any of the R&D costs involved.
