The video game based on the Starfleet Battles tabletop game? I think that would be Star Trek Starfleet Command 1, 2, Orion Pirates, and 3! They called Orion pirates an expansion even though it was playable without the original. It was ridiculously over-complicated but enjoyable if you could somehow manage the million different things in your head.
ooh yeah, I have the limited collectors edition of Judgement Rites. It even came with City on the Edge of Forever on VHS!!! I remember crying when my 386's 50MB hard-drive didn't have enough space for it after installing Windows 3.0 and Microsoft Office.
Because of that I make sure to keep a working computer that can play it (currently a 133MHz AMD '586', more like a 486-DX5, with 64MB of FPM RAM and a 500MB HDD)
congratulations on being one of the 10 people who managed to get the 3rd game before Interplay went under and all the boxes magically disappeared off the shelves.
I fully agree with you. A high-mpg car that is non-hybrid (like the 155 HP Cobalt XFE which gets 37 mpg) is a better solution to a hybrid in most cases.
while the Prius/Hummer myth only has a grain of truth. I would still contend that the non-hybrid version of a Cobalt that gets 37 mpg is a better bet than a hybrid Prius.
mirroring with RAID 0 does not take the place of regular backups of data. RAID 0 is for rapid recovery to minimize downtime is MOST instances. Data should still be backed up separately in case of a catastrophic failure.
Wow, you sure impressed me with your "get a life" argument.
I noticed how you said your cell phone, phone line, and high speed internet were "arranged". Does that mean you did not sign up for them yourself but had your company do it for you?
I'm an American living in Germany. I swear this place would be okay to come for a short vacation but living here long term is like living in a 3rd World country. Want to get a cell-phone? Tough-break, you have to live here for 2 years first. Want to get a phone line, cable-tv, or high-speed internet? Tough break, you have to be a citizen AND live here for 2 years first. Want to eat a bowl of your favorite cereal? Tough break! They don't sell it here and if you try to get a friend to mail it to you, the Government is going to hold it for 3 months first and then charge you 20% taxes on what THEY think its worth.
Try running the 64-bit version.
I have a Core 2 Duo 6600, Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb, 8GB 800MHz DDR2, nVidia 680i chipset.
Vista 64 boots in 10 seconds and its never slow.
Windows 1.0: SUCKED
Windows 2.0: SUCKED
Windows 3.x: AWESOME (for back then)
Windows 95: REVOLUTIONARY (copy of apple)
Windows 98: SUCKED
Windows 98SE: GOOD (comparatively)
Windows 2000: OKAY, then later GOOD (initially lacked consumer/non-NT program compatibility)
Windows ME: SUCKED
Windows XP: GOOD (supposed apple knock-off eye-candy + consumer program compatibility, although by this time new versions of consumer programs were updated to also be compatible with 2000, turn off all eye-candy and it performs same as 2000)
Windows Vista: BAD? (Initially had bad driver support, still has 'ridiculous' hardware requirements. Although 64-bit version has better driver support than XP-64... and it runs really really awesome with a DX10 GPU, Core 2 CPU, 4GB+ RAM)
Windows 7: MAYBE GOOD? (Lower hardware requirements, almost like 2000 if you turn off all eye-candy? Beta doesn't have driver support as good as Vista yet... how much 'legacy' hardware will get cut off from driver support for 7 compared to Vista? Will nVidia only write drivers for 780i chipset and newer?)
Looking at this, if you cut off everything before ME then it looks like it might be following the Star Trek curse.
Windows ME = Star Trek: The Motion Picture (terrible)
Windows XP = Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (arguably the best Star Trek evar!)
Windows Vista = Star Trek: The Search for Spock (good but shunned because it wasn't as gritty awesome as Wrath of Khan)
Windows 7 = Star Trek: The Voyager Home (also arguably the best Star Trek evar!)...
Looks like we might have people arguing over whether XP or 7 is better... but one thing is for certain, Windows 8 should be the worst Windows since ME based on the Star Trek curse.
I've been using SuSE since version 9.1. I've noticed they've been following a trend since the takeover by Novell, version x.1 is always "prettier looking" than x.0 or x.2 or even x.3!!
My Uncle living in Iowa has wanted to get broadband for years. He lives on a farm just outside a town with a population of about 300. The town just lost their only gas-station (damaged in a flood and the owners decided it wasn't worth fixing) and I don't believe the town has broadband available either. So, he's stuck with dial-up for probably a while.
My grandparents in Nebraska live in another small town, they have high speed internet available in their area via WiFi with REALLY big antennas.
Yes and twirling your fingers in the air causes gravitational effects that shift the orbits of every object in the universe and if you look at any analog signal with enough magnification it turns out just to be a digital signal masquerading as an analog signal and your body contains molecules, or in the very least individual atoms, that were once part of dinosaurs and monkey seamen.
Stop being a physicist! Any fool Engineer can tell you that if its too small to be measured than it might as well no be there.
And, also, Firefox cannot necessarily handle all of her "browsing needs". It's not always Firefox's fault, but there's a reason I have IE Tab set up for a handful of sites and it's not because I'm a web developer.
Finance and Health Insurance websites used to be the worst, they'd always pop up with that little screen "Sorry, your browser is not compatible.
But that was freaking 2 years ago. I havn't run into a Firefox non-compatible website in probably over a year now. Firefox works awesome with all the Finance and Insurance sites fine now. I've tested it on Wachovia, Bank of America, Chase, ING Direct, American Express, Hewitt Financial, Blue-Cross/Blue-Shield, and United Healthcare and they all work perfectly.
In fact, I've been running into more and more websites that are broken on IE 6. Slashdot for instance... Works fine on IE7 and Firefox but have to scroll down through pages of blankness until I get to the content. My company runs non-web software that breaks if we install IE7, so I pretty much have no choice but to use a 3rd party browser for surfing and I really like Firefox anyway.
Dr. Nicholas Rush seems to just be playing the part of D. Zachary Smith from Lost in Space.

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, a first person shooter built on the Quake III Arena engine, was a huge success.
Unfortunately, its sequel sucked and was a massive failure despite moderately improved graphics.
We're talking petrol here, not Diesel.

Having to leave the netbook on with an ACTIVE WiMAX connection. Enjoy your cell phone with a 2 hour battery life, when not using it to talk.
STOP FAILING THE TURING TEST!!!! Mmmmm... kay? Seriously, could you possibly speak more while making fewer points?
I don't know. I just know that the DPRK announced that Japan was planning its re-invasion of Korea the day before they launched the rocket.
We still have our own memes, you insensitive clod!
Now imagine a beowulf cluster of Colbert space station modules!!

Does Apple really include a 32-bit Intel version on their installer DVD? I thought all Intel Apple's have always been 64 bit since the very beginning.
How does Sloth not line up with Sleepy?

Except she never called Verizon tech support. The Local news called Verizon tech support for her 6 months later.
OpenOffice is compatible with MS Word.
