Can you give me your spoiler-free opinion of Watchmen?
Its worth going to the cinema to watch it. I enjoyed it a lot, but it took a while to come to that conclusion. It was along time ago that I read the book.
What do you think a cars life is ?, our older car is 10 years old done 65,000 miles and I am getting the third set of tires put on tomorrow ( was mitchelin soon to be good-year ). I think it may have had its battery replaced in that time but I can be sure.
I wouldn't be surprise if the Toyota Avensis is happy for another 3 to 10 years.
If you have lots of data, I don't see how tapes are really going to do the daily backup jobs.
More tape drives, idiot, and parallel backups. Mainframes and OpenVMS have been doing it that way for decades.
If you have lots of data you need to do the maths about how much it costs to back the data up. And how much it costs to reconstruct the data again and decide whether it is worth backing the data up or not.
You also need to consider how long it will take you to do the restore from the backup. If you have 4 petabytes for example backing up a sizable proportion of that space takes a lot of time and energy.
However I would be surprised if this was the case here and not having a database backup is incompetent unless the sysadmin has writtern proof of the rejected po's.
I joined after reading about how photographers where being hassled by the police, the shocking thing is how small my membership number is.
A good organisation I have had no disagreements with in the past I should have joined years ago.
As someone who enjoys taking photos I buy a couple of photo mags a month ( no not that sort....) and two of them have an article this month on your legal rights (I am a UK citizen YMMV) and in the UK designs such as buildings and cars for example are designs under copyright.
After reading about the terrorist laws been used against random photographers/people I decide I had to join liberty
http://www.liberty-human-rights.org.uk/ So my hobby has done some good.
I just wanted to point out that she is writing an encyclopedia the profits from the sale will go to her charity, I believe she has also said if she wins the case the profits from the court case will also go to her charity.
One reason corps buy real licenses is that they want to run packages which are only certified on Redhat and not on Centos. Its the support of the package which is important not the OS.
The difference is in the drop in suction over time, with a normal vacuum cleaner after half a room its lost a lot of it's suck:) the dyson has a constantly high vacuum.
20 odd years ago my Maths teacher who was IMHO very very bright mentioned that they had asked him quietly if would like to join up, he politely declined. He was about 25 when he was teaching me as fair as I can remember. If that was the calibre of people they have then they have some good people.
Most of the money in actual development is caused by the amount of care taken in developing the drug, There is a definite wish not to kill people. Now if we could only reduce the cost of advertising.

I too get about the rated life on the battery, unless I been using the bluetooth dongle I have which brings it down to about 5 or 6 hours for music.
This happened before I joined my current company, although I do believe it to be true.
Tesco once imported a large number of e-macs, these where quiet cheap. We use lots of macs. So the it department went to the nearest big Tesco and bought their stock ( about 20 of them ). Apparently one of the guys put it on his credit card and got the loyaty "points". Not all buisness are the same some thing differently.
Ps the company is successfull and is not so small.
Spider Robinson is an excelent author in his own right. I own atleast 5 of his books and he is known to be an old time Heinlein fan. He is the best choice I can think of to do the job and I suspect it will be a good book. I not sure if they have the names the right way round on the cover though:)

Three kernel panics in 2 days is pretty bad...
I have seen more linux kernel panics than OSX ones however we have more of those than the macs.

Currently I pay 8.50 every two years which is 19 dollars every two years. I remember it being 50 pounds back in 2000.

The first one died after 26 months they fixed it for free, when it was out of the 2 year warranty
I have recently bought a second one when one of the bits fell off after another 9 years.

I suspect it is responsible not to vote, however but not informing yourself you have lost the right to complain about what ever your government does.
