By excluding a harddrive they exclude any kind of pirate material, except for bootchips. This means that it might be impossible to run Linux on future versions of the XBox.
But, seriously, I see that the article was written after the namechange, I don't see why it would make anything but problems by calling it Lindows after that (why not "aka lindash"?)...
SquareSoft RPG's has allways got some of the best quality music that I have ever heard. Not just the music from Final Fantasy, but also a lot of music from games like Chrono Trigger.
I do C on GBA. I usually make some crappy bugs, but I have never ever made a bug when I tried to do ARM ASM (that language just rocks). Wierd... and up for a thought, since the faster you can go on, the faster you will have to face bugs.
Okay, the first question is: How would you target the non-gamers, and telll them about what this really was? I mean, it's simple for peoples that have played Wolfenstein, etc, to know what it means, but imagine that you are a non-gamer! It would create confussion... I haven't got any good examples, but you could imagine it yourself if you have some fantasy...
Anyways, second, wouldn't this spawn "fulltime" gamers in the end? I see your point, but wouldn't it mean that there were too few non-gamers to keep the business running?
No, silly. There's no pesky martians on mars, only some gunturrets who are Linux-based.
SCO sued mars because it used their code to control the turrets;P
Hmmm... I wouldn't go for the material value, but rather a more sentimental one, like, if you met during a movie, give him something related to that movie, etc.
That's the best thing I can think of. What do you want?
Ever heard about japanese interactive storybooks where you have to get laid by anime chicks (hentai-style)?
This IS the same, it's just not in japanese. Also there where AGI games like "Fuck Quest", etc, that had the exact same theme.
Robotron is cool, but I think that Llamatron is even cooler. It had humour and a gameplay that was very similar to RoboTron anyways. Thumbs up.
Anyways, PDRoms.de is having a Llamatron-style competition(rules ), so take a look if you loved the game. The entries will be up very soon after the deadline, if I know the webmaster well enough:)
before the port knocking would be turned into smaller codes, like:
88,0,24,0,103,0,2760,0,667,0,22
which would mean: knock on port 88, wait a second, knock on port 24, wait a second, knock on port 103, wait a second, knock on port 2760, wait a second, knock on port 667,wait a second, and try to access port 22.
Then somebody would turn that into a string, and bing!, you had a secondary password.
Oh yeah? No wonder why it's actually 'loopy', the author of PocketNES that writes the program. I have a non-released binary of the emulator, and it's running pretty good, using all the GBA hardware. But there is, off course, no sound.
Believe it or not, but it's true.
It's hard to get feelings into games, and it has allways been. But there are still lots of peoples who has succeeded upon it, and companies like Square-Enix (Former Squaresoft) has mastered the concept of creating emotions to fit the games. Many Final Fantasy games had this element to make them unique (so goes for the rest of the SNES rpg's they did).
But it isn't just RPG's, it's every type of game (okay, Pong doesn't get me into a special "pong" mood!), as long as the story is awesome and the gameplay is fine. Games like Max Payne 1 and 2 got me really hooked up (probably because Max Payne 2's ability to shape the skilllevel after the player).
Just my 3 cents (the dollar is low in these days).
No wonder. This is the first well-designed multi-application device that I have ever seen. It's a PDA, a REAL pda! Not a PDA-like OS. And, it has a gaming mode and other special features that is independent from Palm OS. That is interesting, because that's what peoples wants! Nobody likes N-Gage in a year, because it's *another* multi-application system that tries to solve it's needs with a new OS/etc. Zodiac uses Palm OS, an allready existing OS that peoples will actually make programs for. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any N-Gage support in Nokias next "(gaming+phone)/2;". That's why they are screwed, and that's why Zodiac will live: If it will suck as a gaming machine it will still be a quite powerfull PDA.
Please #define HACK
In France it's acceptable for a TV ad for shower gel to show a naked woman soaping her breasts.
URL???
Yeah, they will need to read the man pages about chmod and rm twice... they are a bit slowwitted ;)

I CAN'T FIND PACMAN! DOH! >:(
GameSpy has destroyed my dreams!

My post, probably not worth 2 cent

Geek#1: Truth or dare? :S :P
Geek#2: Truth...
Geek#1: Okay... Was it you that bailed my Linux installation when I was getting cofee?
Geek#2:
HOW FUN!

And for the ultimate survival game? Max Payne 2

Great, it's old news, but why not play them on Gameboy Advance instead? :)
How 'low' can they go?
I guess they haven't reached the bottom yet. There's still a long way up!
Using a VGA adapter to a very small screen? Does the screensize play a role for epilepcy?

Actually, there is a SNES emulator for GBA in works in these days. Watch Gbadev, it will probably be posted there when it's released.
...link so SCO again? This is getting fishy :)

Trust me on this one - NASA probably knows more than all this Slashdot discussion...
Phew...
...for all this SCO vs. Linux. Horray!
To celebrate this first stone of truth, I hereby name this day, January the 27th, Linux independensday.
Back me up! >:)
